• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. WHAT IS THIS WIRE FOR ????????????

Woohoo! Hurray for correct identification!

(BTW, I'm so embarrassed that I automatically leapt to the conclusion that the OP was talking about the passenger seat sensor, I missed the part about it being an RCA-style plug... :opps:)

Be careful that you have enough room under the seat for the cigarette outlets. It is pretty tight in there in some places. You might also need a coax extension cable to be ale to scoot the outlets to a wider space or outside the seat.

Scotty's point should be considered. My setup allows me to hang the cable outside the lip of the saddle by the grab handle when in use. I then plug whatever I want into it.

WHAT IS THIS WIRE FOR ???????????? POUFF OH! OH!

Good evening all!

Well I blew it, I mean I blew a fuse, I think?

This morning I figured I would start looking at this COAX cable I have, but figured I would check if there was power at the connector, so I got my voltmeter.

Guess what, I ended up touching both the center post and housing with the same of the plug at the same time, nice spark I must admit, so I obviously blew a fuse.

The question, which one, I checked the switched and unswitched fuses all good, checked the rest just in case all good, this from the fuse box located at the front of the trike.

I have not ventured into removing the side panel yet, in order to check the connection off the battery, I have to assume that an external, individual fuse would have been allocated to this connection.

Now before I go through the exercise, does anyone have suggestions as to what I should tackle first.

Thanks for your assistance.

Dom

Remove the side panel. The fuse is an inline fuse in the harness.

...and should be located somewhere near the positive battery connection.

Next time, wrap a piece of electrical tape around your probe so only the last 1/16" tip is exposed. That way, it'll be very unlikely you short accross the plug... like I have done several times!

I have even done it in Powerlet and cigarette outlets, which are much wider. Why is it that the harder you try to hold your hands steady, the more they shake? Good thing we aren't surgeons! :)

Thanks Scotty, for the info.

Thanks Mark, a point very well taken.

My hand is perfectly steady until I need it to be steady. Then the harder I try the more it shakes!
