• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What is this thing?

Desert Spyder

My friend Stevedfive showed me this in a text message. Is this a car or a MC? I think the guy is restrained. But he has no helmet. In CA helmets are mandatory. Note the rear end. It is a bike with handlebars. Should passengers be allowed and if so do they wear a helmet or not? Obviously home built. Sorry about the image being upside down. I uploaded it and this is the way it showed up. I see no editing tools.

Your right..!!

SpyderAnn01..but it looks to be a sport bike with the front end removed and attached to a two wheeled two seated car pan. Hard to see upside down and it only spins as I turn the tablet...:roflblack:

The definition depends on state law. In Michigan it would be a motorcycle (Three or fewer wheels). Here the bodywork or saddle, or having a steering wheel doesn't matter. Other states differ. Lots of these various homebuilts around.

As a public service, I turned the picture around.

Is this a car or a MC?
In Ohio, it would be considered a 3-wheel motorcycle.

As a public service, I turned the picture around.

It even has gripping bars so someone can ride on the bike saddle.

...unless the law has changed recently...a 'motorcycle' in CA doesn't require a helmet if it has a roll cage.

so guy in front doesn't have to wear a helmet but guy on back does

The anti-gravity feature is pretty cool . . . riding on the top of the tunnel must allow him to bypass a lot of traffic!

So because it is more than 7' in length, and greater than 4', and more than 900 lbs you don't need a brain bucket. Oh, it's in a cage too. Right. But, DMV calls it a bike, AAA might call it a car, and the Spyderites calls it...weird.
