• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What is this Mystery connection?

Found this under the right access panel on a 2018 RT STD. What does it connect to? It is a mystery to me!:helpsmilie:

Readers on, but no switch to be found. It’s an ‘18 and has the cable to the key. It should plug into something somewhere.

On your machine, it doesn't plug into anything.
You sure? I think there should be a microswitch right of the latch. If not then he doesn't have a frunk light. The microswitch served the dual purpose of completing the ground connection for the frunk opener solenoid when the lid was closed and the ground connection for the frunk light when the lid is open.

Actually, a few hours later it came to me. What you said. For whatever reason, when PMK said frunk switch, my brain thought frunk solenoid. Edited my original post. To the OP, look by your frunk mechanical latch to see if your machine has a little micro switch. If it does, that connector goes there. I’ll try to get a pic for you if you need. Apologies for the initial bum dope.

Thank you. Me being almost older than dirt, I thought something peculiar was going on.

In your original post, you mentioned your Spyder is a 2018 std. while that connector would typically be attached to the frunk switch, quite likely the std model does not come equipped with the frunk interior light. Without the light installed, there is no need for the switch to be installed.

The easiest way to verify if the switch is there, open the frunk. You will notice at the aft edge when closed, slightly offset to the right of center, molded into the frunk lid itself is a tab sticking out. That tab is the actuator to operate the switch. If you slowly lower the frunk lid, you will notice a specific cutout this tab drops into. Within that cutout area, if you see a shiny metal tang, that is the switch actuator lever that activates the switch. These often get bent. If yours has no shiny metal tang, very unlikely the switch is installed.

For further assurance, you can easily remove the plastic cover and visually check.

What I just described is far simpler than it sounds. Checking for that metal tang is about a 10 second look.
