What is the difference between the Front Shocks with Silver or Black springs? 2013 ST

I have a question for all, I have a 2013 STS and I'm looking to find 2 used front shocks. I found a pair on Ebay from a 2010 RS with a silver spring, and the OEM shock on the '13 has a black spring. So my questions are, what is the difference in those two springs? Is one stiffer than the other, or are they just a different color?

If I were you, first I would make sure that the two years are the same stroke and travel between the two years that would be almost more important than the spring load! I think they changed things up some in those years but I would have to do some research. To be honest with you I would save my money and buy a set of new shocks, unless you have a broken one and want a quick fix! Why buy someone's used pounded out shock, unless there rebuildable and you can rebuild and recharge them!

:agree: ..... you can also verify if the shocks will work on your 2013 by checking the part numbers at ....canamoemparts.com .... they can tell you what parts are used on what year Spyders / Rykers .... good luck ...Mike :thumbup:

You'll be safe with anything up to the 2016 RS, RSS or ST. I'd go for some RSS shocks if you can find them. I wouldn't worry about part # (except to verify that you're getting what the seller is claiming). You'd be surprised at how many people have no idea what they have. If they fit one of these bikes, they will fit yours. Pre-load adjustable shocks are always the best way to go. BRP put Fox Shocks on some models/years and there may be some of them out there. They are a step up from the OEM BRP's.
