• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What is that underneath my Spyder?

I've finished installing everything I have listed and now ready to test it all out. The wife comes out in the garage and looks everything over and says "that sure is a nice looking Can Am, but what are these shark fins in the front for?" I say "it's styling." So where did you put the new horn?" I say to her "underneath the front, but you can't see it." She's still looking and says, "What is that silver box back there and what is that other thing sticking out the side, that sure is fugly!"
"It's the catalytic converter and the fugly thing is the muffler", I explained. She says "that looks like a tractor muffler".....

Enough said! I'm going to look into making a presentable catalytic and muffler system.

:roflblack:

If ya don't want to get into "making" something... I highly rec the cat delete by RLS.... You're on your own as far as a muffler... They are either still rather large and work well, or they look really good and fail early, or look good and are ANNOYINGLY LOUD!!

This is my F3S with the RLS and the Akra....

If I replaced the muffler, at my wife's request, with something smaller, nicer looking and expensive but ANNOYINGLY LOUD, my wife would immediately tell me to take it all off and put the fugly quieter one back on...

It doesn't matter either way to me, I take my hearing aids out to put my helmet on so I can't hear the exhaust anyway. I know it looks like it was beaten with an ugly stick until it broke but I'm going to just live with it.

I'd look into an RLS cat delete system. The chrome version I recently installed looks AND sounds beautiful.

(And you installed a backup camera ?? That just seems so oddly unnecessary, LOL).

I found this muffler for my Can Am.
Think it will flow better?....

NOPE! Not unless you do something about the Catalytic Converter! :lecturef_smilie:

I reckon the Cat is far more of an issue for your Spyder/Ryker's exhaust flow & performance than the muffler proper, and the next greatest problem is the high level, factory installed, ECU controlled De-Tuning of these engines, so much so that even if you do install a Cat Eliminator (&/or a better flowing muffler) it'll likely give you barely 2/5ths of 5/8ths of stuff all except noise UNLESS you also get an ECU Enhancement done! And doing that ECU Upgrade can make your Spyder/Ryker perform like it really shoulda from the factory.... ;) So Just DO IT! You Know You Want To!

Done em both, RLS Catdelete, with OE Stock Muffler, and a custom ECU Map. Not obnoxious loud, but a nice rumble, and as Peter stated, after a good tune, the machine just wakes up... and never goes to bed....

Gees, I don't know about you people, No one picked up on that Areo Exhaust muffler that is going on my old motorhome
4" dia in and out. It's gonna replace the 4 " Magnaflow that all the guts have blown out after 200,000 miles.
Well, I know the picture was small but I don't think it would work.
