• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. What Goes Thru BRP's Mind??? Brakelight

Bozzzz

New member
I have a new Rt and three LED bulbs are not lighting in the brake light.

The wire going into the tail light houseing seems to have a break.

The dealer said that the whole tail light assembly has to be replaced!

That assembly probably cost a few hundred dollars and has to be replaced because there is no access to the bulb.

This is nuts! BRP is hurting themselves with a design like this. Fortunately, it is covered under warranty, but when the warranty runs out, RT owners will have to spend a small fortune to replace a dollar bulb.

Use your brakes sparingly!

Thanks for the info. Good news about LED's though... they last far longer than the older versions. This assumes of course they are not defective or improperly installed by BRP during assemble.

I will add that I am aware of the front fog-light on the RT's are the same. On my second replacement already on ours.

No idea about the headlights though. I have not yet had the opportunity to look into it.

That said, when looking at the Fog-light assembly, it looks to me like I can get into the assembly on the backside to replace the bulb. I just need some silicone to seal it back up afterwords.

BTW... Anyone try to replace a cracked headlight assembly on a 2008 Mercedes? Can you say $1800 :yikes:

I had the same thing...at the time of delivery. The three center LEDs were out on the right taillight assembly. This is a defect in the assembly, and cannot be repaired by a simple bulb replacement. Car LED taillight assemblies are built the same way these days. I'm sure your dealer will take good care of you.

' No need for silicone. The rt's have covers with gaskets that you pop off to access the bulbs. Its a really nice setup.
