• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What function do these serve?

Do these serve an actual function on the F3-S, or are the purely ascetics? They are on both sides just in front of the foot pegs. I was thinking about possibly removing them on both side to expose more of the frame, but don't want to take them off if they serve an actual purpose on the bike.

Thanks for the help.

They look pretty easy to remove........Soooooooooooo take them OFF and you won't have to guess or take anyone else's guess as to what they really do ..............jmho.....Mike

How effective....

:agree: you will only know how effective they are once you remove them. When you do let us know....:dontknow:

^^ Not just getting wet, but also getting a LOT of wind buffeting around your feet & up your trousers!! :yikes:

Still, I've seen a couple of Aussie F3's with them removed, & their riders didn't complain (too much anyway!) about the wind & rain up their skirts!! But then, we do tend not to get quite so cold over here as you lot get over there.... ;)

Removed mine a couple of weeks ago. I was smelling gas fumes and thinking the windshield might of been part of the issue. Aftert I removed them I no longer have the smell of gas fumes and have not noticed any difference of wind at my feet or legs. My controls are in the #5, most forward, position with Web floorboards..

BRP will love all the ones that remove them wake up the left one helps to stop the stones from being flicked off the front tire on to your very expansive drive belt plus both of them also stop road crap from your motor.

As for wind and heat from your legs what a load of crap.

They keep your "booties" dry and help with rocks and other road debris, not to mention the wind that will try to move your "booties" back off the pegs when unweighted somewhat.

Can also be helpful for snow removal in the winter.
:joke:

Possible road debri deflector...

I don't know what the are for, but I do know they are not built to put your feet on, they could break, as with the RT wind wings. If you need to stretch out, get Seal Floorboards or some kind of Highway pegs. You want to .....
Ride in comfort,

After driving in some heavy rain, looking down at the water coming off of those... I think the driver (aka ME)
would be a mess w/pants and boots soaked. Like a mini-waterfall. Pretty smart design actually.
