There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. What equipment did BRP leave off the 2014 & 2015 RT-S

I went to pick up my new 2015 RT-S yesterday. During the walk-thru we found that the ignition key would not release the front trunk. Having had a 2010 and a 2012 RT-S I looked at the parking brake toggle switch for the front trunk release. To my surprise, the toggle switch for the front trunk release had been removed and the only way to open the front trunk was via the ignition key. Unfortunately, the ignition key would not activate the trunk release and a new ignition switch had to be ordered by the dealer. Has anyone else had this problem or is it unique to my new RT-S? Has the BRP downgraded the components and aesthetics of the bike since the 2010 & 2012 models? Even the decals look like they've been cut out by a first grader.

Thanks for any feedback

It has been speculated that BRP dropped the electric hood release feature because of a safety complaint filed with NHTSA. Someone report that they accidently released the parking brake instead of releasing the hood. The Spyder rolled away with their grandchild sitting on the back.

:agree: That seems to be about the only notable removal from the bike...
rumor has it that a kit is now available, that incorporates the Frunklid switch into the other half of the foglight switch...
Has anybody been able to verify this, and purchase one? :dontknow:

That does not sound too safe to me. You could accidentally turn on the fog lights and blind someone. :joke:

It is indeed a very dangerous world....

Sorry to state the obvious but you are PUSHING DOWN on the key while turning, CORRECT?

Like this Bob?

Did you notice the DC plug in the middle on this BRP RTS demo.

Post #8 seems to have answered the question about a "kit" being available.

I complained at first, but am now used to using my key to unlock the frunk. Push in/turn counterclockwise.

NOTE: This can also be done while the engine is running, if you forget those pesky gloves in the frunk.

I am thinking I will not make any further efforts to have an electronic frunk release installed on mine. A $30K machine should come with it. Rant ended. :roflblack::roflblack:

I guess if I'd previously owned a Spyder with an electric frunk opening switch and then found my '14 didn't have it I might have reason to complain. Since the '14 is my first venture into Spyderdom, the lack of a switch is no big deal to me.

Sorry to hear of your issues. However, I don't see any problemswith using the key to open the frunk. Not to be disrespectful but if you are concerned about buying a machine with less aesthetics and poorer quality, then don't take delivery and keep your previous RT.

I am like JayBros, I have never owned a Spyder until the 2014 RT Limited I have now. I didn't even know that there was a switch to open the frunk on previous models until now. I have no problem with using the key to open it. I guess you can't miss what you never had. 👍👍👍👍

I had a 2010 RTS and the switch broke early on, so I was deprived of the opportunity to inadvertently have my passenger roll away. :roflblack: To the OP, there have been some issues with keys and ignitions on 14s that may have carried over to the 15.

The kit is still available. It is not in the 2015 accessory dealer catalog. But if they look in the 2014 accessory catalog, get the part number, and type it in the computer, it comes up as available. My dealer just did this for me and the kit was ordered and arrived a couple days later. I will pick it up this week.

Do you have the order/part number?

What did they leave off the new models ???

The switch to turn off the governor. I want to go faster than 111mph in the straightaways.

The switch / dial to turn the VSS ("nanny") into F3 mode (loosen it up) . Might be nice to see dynamic electronic modes depending g on skill level / break in times.
