• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The creator of the Vmax conversion lives near me. He has a HD Road King conversion in the works also.

Since I have some interest in a Vmax, I m awaiting a response to an email I sent him.:2thumbs:

I test-rode a Goldwing trike the day before purchasing the Spyder. Its like riding your La-Z-boy down the street -- you get there, and its comfortable, but not much fun. If you're just interested in air and drive mostly freeways on long-haul trips, I can see it.

But the next day, riding the Spyder through the twisties, showed that there is no comparison!

If someone rides both the Spyder and a trike and thinks the trike is worth twice (or more) what the Spyder costs then that's great.

Still, I agree that it is just strange to post what you got instead of the Spyder on this board. :hun:

Obviously, we all had the same choices and all decided on the Spyder. That's why we are here. If we had decided on something else we would post our new ride on a board where everyone else had made the same choice.

I have to wonder, if someone were to post on a HD board that they got a Spyder instead of an HD, I can imagine that you might get a bit different response there than you did here.

I happen to disagree...

A standard trike and the Spyder are really apples and oranges. Just like my Suzuki M109R and the Spyder are apples and oranges too.

There really isn't anything else out there that is a true "Option" to the Spyder.

Of course if you are just talking transportation with 3 wheels then there are other vehicles that fit this definition. But they are night and day. From cornering to panic stops, I just don't think anyone could honestly compare a standard trike to the Spyder.

If you want to expand to any transportation that lets the wind blow through your hair we could add my M109R and a Corvette convertable to the list of "Available Options".

I am 100% in favor of everyone riding what they like best. I hope your new trike turns out to be exactly what you were looking for.

Still, can't help but think you may be riding along some day and see a Spyder going by and wonder if you make the right choice.

Check out these two prospects...with no disrespect to BajaRon

The reality is that the Spyder is a great product in concept and totally fun when it works well. Some of us are looking for what else is out there out of frustration with its quality and service. No custom shop or startup company could do better than a mid-size company like BRP. So until the Japanese giants get in this market, the Spyder is the only viable game in town.:dontknow:

I wrote identical letters to Yamaha and Honda making them know that there is a growing market for this type of product. I also know that BRP is working hard on improving. I hope we can achieve in the future both a stonger and more customer-oriented BRP and some fun viable alternatives and healthy competition...

I can't wait - I'd love to see more competition - AFFORDABLE competition!

The fellow from the link in my previous post called me today. Like it says at his website, he is working with another designer and a few machine shops that do work for Boeing Aircraft on the conversion for the bike in the attached pic. He also has employed the same designer that dreamed up the HD TriGlide to design a front end to enhance the looks of his conversion. He invited me over to check out the converted VMax. The Vmax conversion was more of an experiment that anything. Now he wants to make a kit for a bike that is quite popular and would have a larger "market" A Wing kit may be in the works after the HD,also.

This will be a total bolt on conversion, so there will be no liability problems, according to his attorney. It would be like bolting on a sidecar as far as the state of WA is concerned.

He has even been contacted by several Spyder owners about interest in making a leaning conversion for the Spyder!

I,for one, am very interested in this so far as to consider ...and I cannot believe I am actually saying this..purchasing a earlier Road King and await for this to pan come out.:yikes:

Any comments and suggestions are welcomed by him.

I d keep my eye on this dude.

Before I knew about the Spyder I was waiting 2 years for the Honda
DN-01 to be released to the states. Then along came the Spyder the rest was history. If Honda ever gets into the 3 wheeled market with 2 up front and all the new technology of the DN-01
I'd have to own one...

Exactly what would I do with my stomach when I leaned over and tried to reach the handlebars ?????? :dontknow:

Yeah, and look at all them drive belts. I count three :yikes:
And correct me if I'm wrong but I don't see any rear suspension :yikes::yikes:

Looks cool but I think the Spyder would be a better ride.
