What does the average Spyder Owner pay for insurance in Canada?

$1400.00 full year on RT-S 500.00 deductible, new rider M1 rate with promise to complete M2 level with a course by end of May. Rate to drop after M-M is obtained. No tickets or accidents with 39 years of driving. Broker Stabler, Kitchener Ontario Northbridge insurance coverage. They asked for a copy of the sales bill too. They have my 2 cars, house, and ski boat as well.

For the Ontario Spyder Ryders you might want to get a quote from Dalton Timmis out of Burlington. They are a broker & currently use Aviva. 1-888-385-8466.

Hey there! Would anyone like to help update this thread? My insurance is due in July and would like to see what others are paying around Ontario for their Spyders. Last year I paid $1168.00 for my 2010 RTS-S. Clean slate as far as accidents or tickets. Currently with Intact.

Thanks to any and all that respond!

Been riding here in southern Ontario since 1965. Paying about $1000.00 for my 2013 Rt. Ltd. full coverage. Intact wants a bit more to insure my 1994 Vmax that's worth a fraction of the cost. We have our house, two other vehicles and our business insurance with them. I think the cost depends partly on where you live and the accidents and insurance claims for your area. People in downtown Toronto would probably pay different rates than me driving in rural Ontario. Sucks to see what we pay here in Ontario for insurance but if you want to drive you have no choice. Sucks worst when you own two bikes and you can only drive one at a time but have to pay in full for both bikes for 12 months of the year.

speaking of insurance... I have Allstate & just signed up for the m/c road hazard insurance which covers towing &
tire/wheel replacement if damaged and they also help if I am locked out. I wish I could count the number of times I have
locked my keys in the bike & couldn't get into it. :banghead:

Today I got a 12 month quote from Geico, not my favorite company, and their quote for a 2011 Spyder RT and a 2008 Harley Heritage Softail was $416.34 total for both bikes. Coverage is $250K/500K Bodily injury, $100K Property damage, comp. and coll. $1000 deductable, towing, Optionall bike coverage of $2000.00. To compensate for no Uninsured motorist I purchased stacked coverage on my auto policy. Seems like a great rate, what say Y'all?

I have GEICO my 2014RTS-SE6 and my 12 month premium is: $489.00, with full coverage. Deanna

Last year she paid $1047 for her STL. This year it was $957. When I looked at the policy, it was $600 just for the accident benefits alone. PLPD, Comprehensive, and Collision made up for the other $357. We are really getting hosed here in Ontario.

$359 per year, full coverage. Of course, I only get to ride for a couple weeks with the CRAZY CANADIAN ALBERTA WEATHER, but all is good.

Based in Brampton Ontario Canada with North-bridge Insurance,

2013 RT-S,

Driver Lic. type - M2-M, no accidents, tickets or claims for 42 years.
2 cars, Sea Doo, house, + Northern vacation home all in one bundle suppository to provide a further discount. :banghead:

The Spyder cost $1542.00 :yikes: per year that's all coverage, perils, and personal extended accident benefits.
$2 Mil. liability, $500.00 deductible.

For the USA folk :)

Brampton = One of the highest cost vehicle insurance areas in Canada partly due to excessive litigation.
M2-M Lic. = I wrote the first 2 test's. I was watched driving and given an ok to drive, I drive for 16 months and then take a final driving test to finish my license, changing rating to an M-M
The -M means I can only dive a 3-wheel machine, not a 2-wheeler

Ps: I have another company looking at the entire coverage... there is cheaper insurance available in Canada for Brampton I know.

No Spyder yet but here in BC I pay just under $1100 for my 25 year old GL1500 Wing. I've been riding for 45+ years no accidents.

I am with Travellers Canada Insurance and have all of my policies (home, travel trailer, 2 vehicles and business) with them and pay $243.00/year for all perils coverage, $1000 deductible.

I'm looking to make my first Spyder purchase but after my first insurance quote I got a little scared off...

I'm 31 years old living in Toronto (Etobicoke) with a clean driving record. I just got my M2 after completing a Spyder training course. My first quote from Intact Insurance was $4,400/year! I need to find a company that will cut that down to at least $2,500 before I buy my Spyder (Looking at 2016 F3-T).

Anyone in the Toronto area with suggested companies to contact?

Hmm... renewal of a motorcycle in excess of 401cc (* three wheeled bikes) is almost $545.65 down from 2011 when it was almost $633.55? Quebec must have a provincial insurance plan? So $545.65 plus $238.00, yup, gettin pretty close to what I pay in Ontario between insurance and my $42.00 license sticker.

Washington State, State Farm - I just renewed $305.
