• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

what do you think

I posted this on that link
"As someone that has owned a crotch rocket, 50cc scooter, Bonnevilleand now a Spyder I find it highly amusing that people tend to be so judgmental.I saw a guy beat up because he was riding a scooter and "dared" topark next to a HD. It is pretty Sad really."

Your response

I think it is worth posting, so I did. You're not going to change the ignorant but for every post there is probably 20 readers. Why are they reading? Because they want more information, good information. Where are they going to get good information? From us wise and seasoned Spyder Riders of course!

So be polite, accurate and POST AWAY!

We will change the world 1 heart at a time.

Remember, you were once Spyder ignorant! :ohyea:

Ron,

I agree with the gent up above. I was going to sign in and then your comments popped up and I figured that pretty well covered it. We 74 yuppies are really delighted that some commoners realized how "healthy, wealthy and wise" we really are. I was thinking about selling my Gulfstream 650 position to buy my RT, but decided I needed a new jet also.

Y'all have a nice evening and don't forget the 25 year old single malt scotch :firstplace:
before dinner at Ruth Chris's Steak house or Morton's.

Curiosity overwhelmed me so I signed in, posted my opinion and read the other "replies" from the Spyder folk and because I've been a Harley rider and just couldn't help myself! I'm sure all of our replies will make some of them think twice.

Good luck posting and changing opinions with that group. It would be like going to the Republican convention and trying to get everyone to vote for the Democratic candidate. No political statements intended.

It is pretty obvious that most of the people are just giving opinions without much knowledge behind them.

I think you have your analogy backward, but 'no political statement intended'. :roflblack::roflblack:

I posted just because I had 10 minutes to waste some time....literally...

The "coment" about "earning" ??? status because he started riding in the sixtys, I started (off road) in the forties. So that makes me a old dude.
I have been around traing, M/C, ATV training for many years. There is a saying I believe in. Some people have 30 years experience on motorcycles, Some have 30 with a motorcycle license and one year experience repeated 30 times.
Some of us on here go back befor the Hondas. We had this awful invasion of "Brit bikes". BSA, Triumph, royal Enfield and BMW. I never did understand why a BMW was considered a brit bike at the time.

Spyder haters

Maybe I missed something when I went to the site and read the postings ?? I didn't see a lot of spyder bashing posts per se. There were a couple but the rest seemed to be opinions that spyders just weren't their cup of tea . Then it seems like the fan turned on and the brown stuff started flying. Come on people , just because a couple people stated an opinion ( uninformed ?? ) or whatever , does that mean that everyone has to fet all excited and jump all over them and start flaming contests ?? Maybe it's the temps causing the madness .

A little of this...a little of that...it's all good. I don't think anyone here is 'that' upset...I replied for some S&Gs...

OK thank you I have been a little crabby lately ... I need to lay into some useless motorcycle weenies that think its about what you ride and not that you ride.

Seems there is some over there (not just those over here that are going over there) that have some sense of reason on the matter. I love the HD-fanboys (just like Apple Fanboys of which I am one also) - advance their arguments on how many more "first time riders" and how HD can do no wrong approach - or "earn their right on the road." Guess they forget all the issues HD has had over the years or too easy or convenient to let facts get in the way and ruin a great argument!

In reality, even BRP does not consider our toys a cycle - it is a roadster - a point nobody has yet made over there.

I think that the roadster term was coined, to target a different audience.:dontknow:

In Louisiana the DMV will only issue a MC plate. Also my insurance lists as MC

I dont disagree, Dar. Wisconsin too on the cycle registration, operators permit, and insurance. I think it is 48 of the 50 states where it is an M endorsement required to drive. Whether calling it a cycle is a marketing tool or real, there are differences between us and the typical "cycle" as we traditionally know it (counter steer comes to mind as does overall safety and stability ). However if you asked the casual non-motorcycle person what it was - I suspect "motorcycle" would be the most common answer.

Not starting anything here, But when i had my Spyder very few non motorcyclist would say to me nice bike!
Most comments were nice trike, or more likely what is it who makes it And you all heard all of the other innate comments. Where'as with my Tri Glide 99% of the comments are Nice Bike., And i do say thank you to them,' But it's not a bike its a Trike.
Once you figure out your riding a Trike and not a Motorcycle, you can enjoy the ride and not worry about what people say or think. nojoke
