• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

what do you think

Good luck posting and changing opinions with that group. It would be like going to the Republican convention and trying to get everyone to vote for the Democratic candidate. No political statements intended.

It is pretty obvious that most of the people are just giving opinions without much knowledge behind them.

There are a few Spyder Ryders there doing a good job of sticking up for the spyders. I think it's handled as well as it can be.

What a dork. I replied to ridiculous post, not sure why. I guess he rubbed me, and my Spyder, the wrong way. :lecturef_smilie:

We can't even begin to agree amongst ourselves on helmet usage or full carry permits... :roflblack:
Why do we think that we can teach to those who aren't willing to be taught?
Let them wallow in their ignorance; they seem happier that way!

I dont get why he does not agree with the commercial saying "Its like nothing else on the road." It really isnt like anything else. He says "we have trikes already" BUT...none with two wheels in front. I never rode a regular trike with two wheels in the back but seems that common sense would tell you that they would be VERY different from each other. But I guess I dont need to tell all of you that LOL

The one that always kills me is the toy for rich yuppies comments. People always label every thing they can't handle, dislike, can't associate with or have contempt for as being for the rich.

I wish they would realize how stupid that sounds.

rich yuppies

Who are they kidding, these guys have no idea on the real cost of living, once I've paid the maids, cook, nanny, groundsman, chauffeur and pilot fees, there's hardly any money left over to take our jet to our summer home.

no idea where they get that sort of idea from

harry

Just so you are all aware, I am not even the guy in the picture, I am just the guy that guy pays to post on this site. I walk around behind him with a pen and paper writing down his mindless drivel to post here!

He is a dork and a weirdo!

Anyway, I will go throw twenties at these people until they change there posting attitudes. :joke:

was going to lay down a post

went to the site and registered, but by the time i got in to write a reply, bajaron had given them a double barrel shot of buckshot. i could not and would not try to say it any better. just left the site. he said it all!:bowdown:bajaron you're da :spyder2:man!!!!!

I think it is worth posting, so I did. You're not going to change the ignorant but for every post there is probably 20 readers. Why are they reading? Because they want more information, good information. Where are they going to get good information? From us wise and seasoned Spyder Riders of course!

So be polite, accurate and POST AWAY!

We will change the world 1 heart at a time.

Remember, you were once Spyder ignorant! :ohyea:

I generally shy away from "swamp the other forum" entreaties-- stuff gets schoolyard right quick-- but in this case, I'm proud of our Ron and Tito for their reasoned responses.

I think the biggest challenges confronting the Spyder marketing-wise is the tendency for experienced motorcycle riders to regard it as just like a conventional trike (it's not) and the difficulty for many two-wheelers to get comfortable quickly on the Spyder (as Ron so eloquently referenced).

If you dislike conventional trikes-- and let's face it, a lot of folks do-- then you're going to lump the Spyder in with the former.

Likewise, if your only experience is borrowing the Spyder for a test ride around the block a couple of times, it's liable to feel very weird compared to two-wheels (heck, I had the *opposite* happen to me when I rode my GF's Vespa for the first time a few weeks back-- after being off of two wheels for so long, riding THAT felt weird! Gee, must mean all motorcycles suck, amirite? :joke:).

As I've often noted, I have two healthy legs, I'm not afraid of two wheels, I'm far away from (likely not) collecting Social Security, and I can't wait to add more two-wheeled contraptions to my stable... and yet I am positively thrilled with my Spyder purchase. The many three wheel benefits aside-- safety being #1-- the simple inarguable fact is the Spyder is a blast to ride. Period. So are motorcycles, so are ATVs, so are snowmobiles, so are waverunners, so are jet skis, etc., etc.

Anyway, I'll admit that I'm happy if the efforts of all the Spyderlover evangelism crowd DON'T pay off. Yeah, yeah, we all like to be rock stars and rave about our machines, but I must say, it's nice still being in the pre-"Black album" Metallica phase of secret coolness. Once the Spyder gets all big and stuff, you'll be able to say you were a fan back before they sold out, back when it used to be about the music... :doorag::D

I say who cares what they say -- I bet if they totalled up original cost of their Harleys with all the accessories the have spent more than we have for our Spyders -- ignorance is bliss -- so dream on!!!

I joined and posted there also. Sometimes I can walk away and sometimes I stand up and get noticed. I know it probably didn't change any minds but who knows.

I went back and looked at the new posts from SL's. You are all giving good information, and in a way that does the brand justice. No fighting, "just the facts". Way to go. :2thumbs:

History repeats. I remember the same comments about Japanese Crusiers not being real bikes, of road bikes not being real bikes, anything not made in the US being real bikes and anyone who rides them not real bikers. It's just amazing that so called bikers feel that they own the sport and have a say on who is allowed to ride or enjoy the culture. I have ridden motorcycles for over thirty years, been a member or several riding clubs and I am now the vice president of a blue knights chapter. But since I now ride a Spyder I am no longer worthy according to this group of dorks. Well, after having put several in prison over the past years when I was in Law Enforcemnet let me just say I am very happy not to be considered an equal!

Spyders rock! And Spyder Ryder's are the best group of folks to have as friends I haven't met yet!
