There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. What Do You Make Of THIS News??

Got it to open but thru another source.

More of a T-Rex car competition than a :spyder2:

I ride a Spyder, but if it gets someone else on the road with the wind in their face, I'm all for it!

It would also add to the competitive market.

:hun: " . . . Polaris Chief Operating Officer Bennett Morgan compared the Slingshot to the Can-Am Spyder, a product that looks like a three-wheel motorcycle . . . " I thought the Spyder was a motorcycle . . . sure fooled me! :gaah:

The legal definition of a motorcycle for the purposes of registration, taxation and rider licensing in most countries is a powered two-wheel motor vehicle. Most countries distinguish between mopeds up to 49 cc (scooters do not count as a separate category) and the more powerful, larger, vehicles known as motorcycles. Many jurisdictions include some forms of three-wheelers as motorcycles.

Many States like mine include the Spyder as a Motorcycle so they can tax me $2-$300 and year in property taxes BUT Most definitions Do Not include 3 wheelers as Motorcycles.
I don,t consider myself a "Biker?" I ride 2 Spyder roadsters.

I,m a "Roadster Rider!" :roflblack:

If the ex CEO of Saturn has anything to do with this venture, I want nothing to do with it. I went through a nasty time with Saturn when on of my front struts went kaput and they wouldn't replace it under warranty (after only 4500 miles). Effectively, I had to drive the vehicle until the other side collapsed before they would replace the pair...got rid of it and bought a Subaru.

Hmm is an interesting looking vehicle, I would like to know the ground clearance, the engine type, and some more technical information before making final judgment. Perhaps something will come out with more specs in early January. Uh Oooo, Think I better go look at the picture of the cognac spyder again.

An interesting vehicle coming from the folks at Polaris. Elio is the one that will have to watch out on this one. I did note Polaris mentioned $20,000 ball park price. Still don't know how Elio expects to sell for $6,800.

I like the cycle concept of our :spyder2: in comparison to the sit-down roadster concept of the Polaris. Will be interesting to see how far the Polaris thing goes.

Good Monday morning discussion material though.

This is old news to some and I was glad when I saw what there plans were so there would be no conflict with me wanting to jump ship. nojoke
They've done a great job with their bikes but this is not something I would even consider to be competition with the Spyder.

i agree! i don't know how elio plans on turning any profit at $6900.00. although, $20k for a low slung 3 wheeled atv looking vehicle seems real high! i'll stick with my spyder!!!!

Still..!!

meets all the specs of a car...seated, strapped in, steering wheel and caged...nice looking but still needs to go to the three wheel auto devision.. We are in a different class and just because you make a vehicle with three wheels doesn't get you in....:ohyea:

Not for me...

Although this vehicle may not be for me, i'm all for competition in the marketplace.

Although it is more like a car than the Spyder is, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery...

Makes me wonder who else will get into the 3 wheeled bikes. We now have Polaris, could Honda and Yamaha be far behind? I don't know about you guys but if a 1800 cc flat 6 reverse trike come to the roads for the same price as a RTL. I can see BRP dieing a slow death. nojoke

Honda has been doing a lot of things with their GL platform of late. The 1800cc proven engine might be one thing that would make some current :spyder2: owners change--but it still depends a lot on how people are going to like the new 1330 cc and the three cylinder configuration. Yamaha is a long shot and IMO--don't see a three wheeler configuration like :ani29: happening there very soon.

For me--it won't happen. The 2014 RT-S will most likely be my final purchase as far as toy vehicles go.
