What do you do for Emergency Assistance on Far/interstate Road-trips?

I do have lots of good tools, but one call-out not noted above: I did get (and keep on me) tow straps for in case the tow truck only has hooks. Cheap insurance against cosmetic damages. I’m thinking I’m going to adopt this mentality next breakdown (had a belt shred once, and had the sprocket go out once).

For less than $20 Lamonster sells two lower shock bolts that have "O" rings welded on them for the purpose of towing or moving a short distance if disabled. I've got them on my Spyder. Very inexpensive insurance if needed.

I love to take day trips and extended stay rides. I currently own a trailer and have had to have my wife come pick me up during breakdowns in past. I’d love to come up with a means to get help without the need for my wife and my own trailer if I were to break down. What do you do?

What do you do if you break down far from home and alone? What services do you use? What’s your plan for handling such an emergency? Are you trying to get towed back home or to nearest? Have you been stranded because no parts locally?

Would love to see how you’ve planned for roadside emergencies so-as to keep moving and get you and your Spyder elsewhere.

If you have a Facebook account, check out North American Biker Rescue (NABR). With over 52K fellow bikers and Spyder riders willing to help, there's a pretty good chance you will be taken care of no matter where you encounter problems.

You guys know that if you still have factory or extended warranty it have roadside assistance. Also my insurance have roadside assistance

My insurance includes emergency road service. If I am within a couple hundred miles of home, I would call and try to get someone to either get my trailer or bring one of the horse trailers to pick me up. Far away, like 200 up to 2,000 miles, I would get emergency road service to take it to a place that could fix it, or if they could not fix it in a reasonable amount of time, load it up on a Uhaul truck or trailer and tow it back home. You can rent trucks and trailers all over the country.

Most of them have gone on to the big highway in the sky now, but when I was riding all over the country, I had friends within a couple hundred miles of most any place I went that would help me out.

Here are a few things that will help in an emergency:
Call BEST (even if your warranty has expired), they will provide you with closest dealer information,
Go to the spyderlovers.com home page and review the link "spyders to the rescue" on the left side under Spyder web (although not every area is covered), and
Post your dilemma and location here and on various facebook pages and nearby members will help you.
