• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

what did I do for a living

I am a retired naval intelligence officer and DoD Intelligence Specialist...35 years total in support of our glorious nation.

What say you?

was forced into retirement because of an industrial accident. Screwed up my back. I was a millwright for 33 years.
As long as you are producing They love you but when something likes this happens, it is over with. All bull work.

Deputy Sheriff for 25 years now retired and now apita to my wife of 47 years, part time :spyder2:rider now and loving life.

Very Happy Spyder :spyder2:rider

Pilot with Air Canada for 30 years...too many cool airplanes around to even think about retirement!

Various regional planning, economic development/redevelopment, long term and mostly transportation planning positions over the last 38 years. Still enjoy the challenges too much to give it up. But ... :spyder2: ryding and the wind in my face is getting me to thinking a change may be in order. :ohyea::2thumbs:

I m not sure if I responded to this thread or not, so..

I retired in '08 after 38 years working as a carpenter, mostly concrete gang forms. I had a small contracting business off and on when I coundn't find work with a contractor. Wife retired from the Dept of Corrections in MI.

We just moved from an apt complex to an old farm house. What a welcome change that is!!

Well, I have just skimmed this thread, and I think that if it came to choosing people to survive the end of the world, most of y'all would be way ahead of me, with the skills you have!

I'm in customer service - the operative part of that phrase is the 'cuss' part, lol! Trust me on that. We are in sales and service for European manufacturers of wire drawing, fiber optics, and cable-making machinery. That's how I make my living, although I am a licensed building contractor.

I'll probably never get to retire. Between the economy's hit to my retirement plan, and the fact that I am the sole breadwinner in my household, I'll probably work till I drop.

Good on you! My wife is a special ed teacher, too...and the senior class advisor. They all love it when she rides to work.

Newbie, Junior, or Senior depends on the number of posts, not your age. :roflblack: Besides, it's not the age, it's the mileage. :yikes: Come chat more often and you'll be a senior in no time.

Good on Nancy and IDW777frog. My daughter is special needs, and although she is no longer in school, just turned 27 last Saturday, I gotta hand it to you folks.

I'm retired USAF, 20 years. Currently employed as a field service rep for a major floor care equipment/coatings company. Been with them 21 years. Out on short term disability after having hand surgery for worn out thumb joint. Looking forward to retirement soon. Wife is on disability for kidney disease, had transplant. Has a music ministry singing at rest/nursing homes, churches etc.
