• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What did you do on or to your Spyder today..........

Cleaned the bike and got it ready for a ride I have planned for tomorrow. Going to visit 2 job sites since it will be in the mid 70's tomorrow, and then the temps will be dropping 25-30 degrees for the next week. I might swing by the Can am dealer in Goldsboro just to show them that I did buy a spyder even if they didn't want to sell me one.

I gave her a good bath and spit shine..... preparing for a large group ride on Saturday.

BTW... I got a good price on an upgrade to a 2014 RT Ltd or RT S...... I may very well be joining the 3 cylinder group. :D

Maintainence..!!

changed oil and filter, spit and polish getting ready for Bike night thursday and the IMS on saturday...:2thumbs::yes::yes:

After shoveling snow I sat on my Spyder and took some pictures of me sitting on it (for the saddle maker), and then I plugged in the battery tender.

Weather was great, so I took a short (55.83 mi.) ride around the "block" before heading off to work.
Tomorrow is the last forecast warm day for riding and I have to work all day.:gaah:

THE QUEEN AND I

were out for 12 hours today. Close to 300 miles from Connecticut to the North Shore of Long Island by way of the Whitestone Bridge into Queens, out 25A all the way to Orient point, 1 short ferry ride to Shelter Island, Then another short ferry ride - we're talking maybe 7 minutes for each one - to get to Sag Harbor on the middle fork of LI, the down to East Hampton on the South shore, back West on Route 27 North on 46, West on 25, North on 112 to Port Jefferson LI where we had dinner while waiting for the BIG ferry across LI Sound from Port Jeff to Bridgeport CT (I slept) then another 25 minutes home. Great, really interesting day to see places I've lived sort of near to since 1978, but had never seen. Lots of fun, hope to get one more ride in before winter bedtime. And, HAPPY VETERANS DAY TO ALL VETERANS!! I hope yours was a good as mine was.

Did about 30 miles running errands and seeing friends and completed spraying pegs and floorboards flat black tonight.

I didn't do anything with the Spyder today. Temp was 2 F. today, also had snow & ice on the roads. Should warm up to 34 by Monday, then it will be time for a short ride at least.

Ride every day

It it is not raining I will be driving it to work every day! Last night 39 deg at 2am when I left work headed home. Fall jacket with foggs keeps it warm with heated grips on.

Rode my Spyder

to the dealer, 20 Mile round trip, to see if they had a coupon for a discount to the International Motorcycle Show in Long Beach for Saturday. Filled the Spyder up with gas (91 Octane) first before going to the dealer as I had ridden it this past Saturday on the Mulholland Hwy (156 miles round trip). PS dealer didn't have a coupon:shocked:

I left home around 11 AM. Went to Frederick MD for some blodd tests, then rode back roads into Virgina, to Gore, VA, where I could fill up with 93 Octane ethanol free gas . . . then headed home . . . it was a beautiful day to ride . . . rode 138 miles, altogether, and rolled over 10,000 miles, 8.6 mi;es into the ride!

I always top off before going back into my garage (cuts down on gas smell, as it cools the tank) . . . and discovered I got 38 MPG between Gore VA, where I filled with ethanol-free gas, and home . . . I averaged 45 MPH on that leg of the trip, sticking to back roads, but I've never gotten mileage like that! I'm tempted to get a 15 gallon gas caddy to keep in the garage, so I can start every ride with ethanol-free gas!

Saw this type of thread on other motorcycle forums and figured I'd start on here...
Today I hooked up leads for a battery tender since later this week it will be getting cold.

OK, I guess I'm not familiar with a "battery tender"??? what does it do and where does it go?? cost???
THE BIG F

Me and my Shadow, er, Spyder, for Tuesday...

After reading the morning paper, I worked about 45 minutes removing the bugs from Sunday's 135 myle ryde, and from Monday's 65 myle ryde, then invited missourigirl out to lunch at a little workingman's restaurant in the oil patch about 42 myles away. But when we returned home, we had clocked 115 myles and the front end was all full of bugs again!

But for today we have switched the thermostat from AC to Heat. :(
Ryding weather returns Friday & Saturday.

BRRR!!

Plugged :spyder:into the battery tender in the garage and ran back in the house because it's a cold 40 degrees here, and suppose to get in the 20's Friday..

how

Installed two 12V sockets. One in each front speaker grill. Using one for my GPS and the other for electric vest.
Installing the 12v. plugs where you did sounds interesting. Could you give an explanation on how you did this, pics would be nice also.

Thanks
