There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. What cost should I expect for service?

I recall seeing this elsewhere on the forums, but my search doesn't seem to find it. I have a 2014 RT SM6, and am ready to get my initial 3k mile service done. What should be the expected cost for this, and what should I have them to take a special interest in? Should there be something that I should lookout for?
Thanks in advance.

Hourly service rates vary greatly between dealers in different areas so an answer you get from someone in NY or CA might not be accurate for you.

Figure about $300 for an initial servicing of your :spyder2:. Some dealers charge more/ some less. Last year, I was paying $110 per hour plus parts etc. I don't like the costs, but most of the time, my dealer does it right the first time.

That is what I was looking for. I was given a quote of $250 from 3 local dealers, so I feel like I am in the ball park.
Thanks,

Most of the time? :D

I have had an occasional glitch and have written about it. Not big enough to cause me to become a :ani29: hater or to go to a different dealer. In over 100,000 miles of :spyder2:ing, I am happy with the product and the dealer that I do business with.

That's a good price. I just had my 3,000 mile done and it was $120/hour plus parts and it took them three hours.

Not a bad price

I was quoted $344.00 for a first time service which includes oil & filter change... I think that's absurd..

Your first service includes a number of inspections not normally included in just an oil and filter change. However at $120/hr. a three hour oil/filter change only, is on the other hand is a rip off. An oil change kit can be had for about $80 + or - on the 1330 motor. So save some bucks and do it yourself, it's not a bug deal and there are videos on this site that show you how to do it.

I was under the impression that we (spyder owners) had to get the first service so our warranty could be validated ? am I wrong ?? I hate to shuck our $350 for an oil change..

FIRST SERVICE

My dealer charged me $ 175.00 for my first service, and they checked out everything because they allowed me to be In the shop while It was done so I could watch..

I don't think a dealer first servicing is a requirement to validate the warranty. Do save your receipts so that you can document that your oil was changed.

I do think a dealer first servicing is a good idea though. They should put the :spyder2: on Buds to verify that all the electronic stuff is good. They should also do the checklist of "double check" items to make sure you are performing according to specs.

Last time I checked, they range from $80.00 to $150.00/hour in my "area". As you see, the prices range from $175.00 to 350.00 from the responders. The trick is to stay away from the highway robbers.
