• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What is everyone doing after Durango?

Camille and I are heading North to Silverton, Ouray, Ridgeway then RON at the Hampton Inn in Montrose, Co the night of the 28th.

Day two, west to the west side of Black Canyon, then Gunnison for lunch and backtrack to Hiway #149 south to stay at the Matterhorn Inn in Lake City, CO the night of the 29th

Third day south to Creed, Wolfcreek Pass and then two days at the Springs Hotel to lounge in the hot springs and R&R. (30-1st)

South to Farmington NM to RON on the 2nd.

Home on the third to Show Low AZ for the Fourth of July at our Summer home.

This is some of Colorado's most scenic country. I grew up in Colorado and have done this before. Anyone wanting to join up for some or all are welcome. Make reservations early as Colorado Lodging is not plentiful in the Summer.

Day riding is short and we will be making a lot of scenic stops between RON's. No Horses trying to get back to the barn early please. Let's enjoy this.

I haven't decided yet. It will largely depend on how much funds I have for the trip. I am really hoping to go to Monument Valley after the OE. After that, who knows? I have always dreamed of a big round trip through the National parks of Utah and Colo; but I think I'll have to break it up into several trips over a few years.

That is a good plan also but further from Kansas. If you are coming from Kansas are you coming all the way on HW 50? To go to Moab you would travel to Grand Junction (Colorado National Monument) Then West to Moab ( Arches National Park).

Will be heading to Madison, WI to attend Wing Ding ( Gold Wing Road Riders Association International Rally)

we'll head to Oatmen, Arizona and Laughlin, nev and then to Tombstone ...should be home by July4th

We are arriving in Durango the week before and plan to do a few day trip around the San Juan skyway. Durango, Pagosa Springs, Lake City, Gunnison, side trip up to Crested Butte to visit friends then Gunnison, Ouray, Silverton back to Durango before the event.

I will be in MH with Spyder on trailer so plan on doing some camping and fishing for a few days before heading back across 160 and home.
mtbear:yes:

I have to do this.

Loved the video. I grew up in Wiggins where they were supposed to have picked up the chickens. (one gas pump town 60 miles NE of Denver. Population 125) Always loved this song as it always brought me a little closer to home, not to mention the humor. Wolf Creek Pass is much improved since this song was recorded by C. W. McCall. in the early days it was much dreaded by "truckers"

Copperman & I are debating whether to go out early and tour or do it after the event. In any case, I want to revisit many of the areas already mentioned. I lived in Parker, Co for over 20 years before moving to Indiana. I love Colorado. It's such a beautiful state. We will probably hit Wolf Creek pass on the way out. I am thinking of going north to Montrose and then east on 50 to Salida before catching 285 north and either swing over Independence Pass(if it's open) to Aspen or on up 24 to Vail. Either way I would like to go to Steamboat and then back over Rabbit Ears Pass. From there we will probably start heading east toward home. Copperman(Jerry) wants to drive up Pikes Peak and we may but I want to get used to the altitude before doing that so it will probably be on the way back.
Open to any suggestions and of course company is welcome.

Heading up to Golden, CO so that I can ride the Spyder up Mt. Evans to earn a patch for doing a 14er on a motorcycle.
Then I will be storing the trailer and Spyder at a place my nephew has while I go up to Western Montanna to visit someone.

Upon returning to Golden, I'll pick up my trailer and Spyder and head for a ride up Pike's Peak, another 14er on the Spyder.
From there I'll be heading back to GA.

While we are on Durango, the pre-race stuff will be going on for the Pike's Peak race on Sunday, June 29th. That's why I will be going up there long after that event is cleared out.
