• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What are you cleaning with?

I am using Pro Honda Spray Cleaner and Polish. 14 oz aerosol can cleans off grease, bugs and dirt, blocks UV rays, repels water and has an anti static additive to reduce dust buildup. Neat stuff and only $8 a can.

I sure don't miss all the chrome polishing, spokes and detail work needed on my cruiser. Lots easier to keep the Spyder looking good.

I use the same exact stuff. Friends of mine turned me on to it. I have never washed my spyder with a hose. Is that typical?

I use the Honda spray as well. My dealer turned me on to it. Works the best.... except for the time i wiped my rear swing arm that was covered in road dirt and scratched the heck out of it as i didn't spray it down with a hose first cause I was feeling to lazy to turn on the hose... Live and learn. :edit: :'(

I use Honda Brite just spray on and hose off.... Makes cleaning fast and easy so I can spend more time riding... ;D

+4 on the Honda cleaner and polish, bugs wipe right off, doesnt like to come out of can in really cold weather.A+

An old wise man that was an oem supplier told me Honda cleaner is Plexus rebadged..... they both work awesome.. As with the other poster- I have never washed my spyder, except after the homecoming...Normally Plexus and a clean soft towel and in ten minutes its showroom shiny.

plexus at almost ANY motorcycle dealer, Honda cleaner and polish (same stuff) at any Non Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki Dealership..... :doorag:

Only had mine for a week and haven't washed it yet but Hubby has. It sure looks easier than polishing all that chrome that I used to have to do. He just used car wash and Honda spray.

Although not specifically stated on the site, you don't need to wash first, you'll just use more of the product if your Spyder is really dirty. Works on bugs, grease, road grime, you name it. Spray on, wipe off. Wonderful stuff!

One 16oz bottle costs around $5 and I get around 15 - 20 cleanings with it.

HINT: The more often you use it, the less you'll need for each individual use. Five or six squirts on a washcloth to wipe down the Spyder, then hit it with a dry towel for the shine. You'll need a bit more to get dried bugs off the front. Keep a bottle in your trunk and get the bugs before they dry -- they come off much easier!

I also use this to clean my helmet and face shield. A quick squirt, rub it into your face shield with your fingers (the wax disolves the bugs), wipe off with clean terrycloth towel -- absolutely NO scratches.

Regards,

Mark
