Wow. Sorry to hear about your troubles. You weren't very far at all from my home. I wasn't aware of the Spyder rescue listings. I'll be adding my name tonight. We got home from Cuba around noon on Sunday, and I would have been more than happy to bring my trailer by and assist. I could have hauled you on into Memphis and visited my sis while I was there. Hope all works out well with your clutch.
Keep me in mind for next year's ride to Cuba. We can meet up in Cape Girardeau and take the twisties back road to Spyderfest together! Always good to have a road buddy along!
As the techs have already checked it out and verified it is the clutch, this may be a moot point, but thought I would mention it if someone else develops these symptoms. I noticed that several people chimed in that the symptoms indicated it "has to be the clutch." Well, I had the exact same symptoms a few months back, and like everyone else, I was certain I had blown the clutch. But after towing the bike into a dealer and getting it up on the rack, found that I had caught a rock or some other foreign object in the drive belt, and sheared off a dozen or so of the teeth. The bike acted just like a badly slipping clutch, but all I needed was a new drive belt.
Wish yours had been as easy, but just wanted to add this as food for thought if anyone else ever encounters the problem.
If it were me and they know for sure it's a bad clutch I would jus.t have them fix it now and figure out who's going to pay for it later.

when was your spyder built? strange so in the few miles you put on the clutch actually was used up to under spec for replacement? alot of the miles were highway ... wonder if the clutch was not disengaging fully somehow.
After several days of phone calls, BRP techs finally got with the dealer techs and went thru all possible candidates that could have been the cause of the premature clutch slip. Although no root cause was found, BRP ordered other parts such as the clutch assist solenoid and pretty much a overhaul of the entire clutch (gears, plates, springs). And from what David was told about the warranty on this, BRP told him "consider it authorized"
