• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What am I looking at on my 2015 F3

There is a box mounted on the left side of my F3 that I believe is an add on. The first pic is the box from the outside, the second is the end of it showing what looks like two audio ports, and the third is a toggle switch by the air filter box. Any ideas what this is?

It certainly looks like an add-on?! As to what is it?? Maybe it's a power amp of some sort?? Possibly music type amp, or maybe it's a piggy-back 'power commander' type chip for the ECU, hence the toggle switch to enable/disable it? :dontknow: I've seen similar looking 'Power Chips' for hi-tech DI Diesel engines, but I don't think any of them had the 2 'audio ports' on their ends?!

Can you see where any of those wires come from/go to?? What's the toggle switch wiring connected to??

I was leaning towards an amp for the speakers which I will be removing. I got to thinking about that after I created this post. I'll be working on that tomorrow. I might try mounting some kind of radio later. Neither of us have any music on our phones, which the speakers are set up to use. I'll let you know what I come up with tomorrow.

Before you start:shocked:Document everything ! plenty of pics & notes, what wires spliced together ( use some number tape if necessary) , any other things you may notice in the process:lecturef_smilie: if it is tied to ECM you may Find a need to put it back:gaah: Those ports could be for sensors Of some sort. Hopefully it is just an audio contraption, worth contacting the previous owner with late questions.

Trace the wires and see where they go!! That would be the first thing I would do, just in case it is a mod of some sort!! Good luck

I was going to ask it it had speakers on it - you said yes. That's totally the amp. You should find the speaker wires running to it and the power lines from the amp running to the battery or accessory line. Haven't seen anyone stash one there before - but that's what it is.

Yes, it was a Boss Rebel amp. There was also a usb port. Neither was tied to electric. I removed them. I ended up cutting the lines to the speakers, but they can be easily rejoined. I would have asked the po, but don't know him, never met him. He traded it in on a motorcycle, and I bought it from the dealer. After I get the wiring put back together, I'll probably put it up for sale after I research it some.
