• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I sent a picture to Bob @ Utopia Backrests of his backrest our our Spyder. He got it up on his website already. Take a look:

http://www.utpr.com/spyder.html

I love this backrest. I've had one on my Goldwing since 2001 or 2002 & it shows no wear on the backrest or where I cut the saddle to install. Also have one our my wife's 2008 Silver Wing (which is for sale, now that she has the Spyder).

God bless,

never new this existed. Few questions for ya..Does this intefere with the rider in the back. Can it be removed. A little nervous about cutting seat, how does it stop the cut from getting any bigger?

I like it, I sent a question to them seeking more information about if:
1. they are planning to create a passenger backrest to rivals those that cost over $600+.
2. If the backrest was truley removable.
Very quick response and completly understand where they are coming from. Still thinking it over but would love to see one in person.

From Bob
"We don't make passenger backrests, except replacement pads to match our backrest. Never wanted to get into the liablilty of a sissybar braking and passenger falling off back.
Our quickout option for our driver backrest, is not available on your model, but you can remove one bolt at hinge to remove pad. Thanks, Bob"

A photo of the BRP comfort seat with a Utopia backrest installed has recently been added to their website.

Wow! That was quick. The BRP comfort seat and backrest are mine. I just received it back from them yesterday. Since they had never done a comfort seat before, we USP'd the seat to them and they created the back rest for it. They did a great job in copying the stitch and pattern of the comfort seat. The metal post is a bit longer than that used for the regular seat. I took the bike out for a ride last night and yes its very comfortable. I'll post pictures very soon...Joan

Joan,
Your seat looks awesome!

Did you notice that the picture they credit to you is the same as the one I sent them? I think they got them confused... ;)

Hey Mark, I just went on their website and evidently they corrected the mistake. Utopia certainly is a good company with which to work...Joan
