...I ran a tank out (at least until the low fuel came on) and got right at 200 miles! It held 5.4 gallons when filled up...
I think I'd be buying gas a little sooner in the future. Who knows how far the next gas station is. I have also not bought gas until the low light comes on but I've never put more than 5.5 gallons in the tank. I'm thinking your were cutting it pretty close to running out.:yikes::yikes:
Well as usual I prefer to be somewhat different. So at this OIL change ( 4,987 miles and I plan to have it tested Rotella T-6, 5W40 Full Syn )....I am trying Rotella " T " ,a 15W -40 because an unexpected journey came up ( approx. 800 miles total ) and I wasn't going to go past 5 K on the T-6........I only plan to use it for maybe 2000 miles before I put the Spyder to bed for the winter, so I wasn't suoer concerned about longevity......I put in 4 1/2 qts.....and started it up and it really sounded ....smoother (?)......So I hopped on and took it for an easy warm-up ride. Well I'll say this for a straight DINO - OIL I think it was smoother than my full syn T-6.......especially when shifting into reverse and back into drive.....I then checked the " up to TEMP " level and added about 1/4 Qt.........I'll report back after I get home about this OIL ......Mike
I am guessing mobil 1 is not a winner on the lab test??? :dontknow:
I won't be going back to this oil. This is two different labs that have come back with the same info and told me the oil is thinner than it should be.
Not good results
I am guessing mobil 1 is not a winner on the lab test??? :dontknow:
Pretty sure the tests Doc had done were on BRP oil, which is 5-40. The wider the spread, the more it shears.
Wow, I cannot believe the difference! Went from BRP blended to Mobile 1 4T full synthetic and I immediately noticed a difference. The engine runs quieter and you can barely feel it shift. The old oil has 5k on it and will be sent in for analysis. Let's see if the shearing had ceased like the claims....I'll report back!
One thing that bothers me about product testing is that I see very minimal done by the manufacturer in the auto industry and then it is up to the consumer to really put it through the trials in actual day to day operation. I doubt if BRP tested the 1330 triple as extensively as they should have. There just isn't enough R&D budget to do that. Since this engine and transmission combination is new as of last year, I am afraid to say that the burden of final testing will rest upon all of us. I would like to get the greatest possible mileage out of my engine and trans and an oil that shears below what the labs say are good is not the way to go IMHO.
Is this their Motorcycle Oil???????????Just did switch over to Mobil 1 4 stroke 10/40.
I was "thrown off" by the low price for the 4T. Who's selling it @that price???? The lowest I've seen it @is $10.99/qt. Maybe regional price differences.Just did switch over to Mobil 1 4 stroke 10/40..price Mobil 1 $9.67 qt..
