Well it’s official! Just pulled the trigger on a 14 ST Se. This site was by far the best resource out there for a newbie like me to become more knowledgeable about the Spyder product. For any other new members looking to buy let me share my three biggest takeaways:
Test ride all the models and make sure you find the one that best fits you. I started out with an RS and quickly learned that the ST would better fit my riding style.
Shop around. There are many dealers out there and deals to be had. On the surface you will think that everyone just pays sticker price, but that is not the case. I spent 8 months shopping and gaining valuable tips on this site and ended up saving almost $4,000 off sticker.
Finally and probably the most important thing I learned is to find a Dealership that you can create a professional relationship with. Talk to other Spyder owners and seek feedback on their experience with local Dealers. Yes, I could have saved more money in the end buying online and having it shipped, but I now have a local dealer that has been in business for over 40 years and has a good reputation.
