• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Welcome, dmorris29

Thanks - currently a Triumph owner, but just had open heart surgery (triple bypass). I'm considering a Ryker as an alternative to 2-wheel riding.

Is there any need to change over from your Triumph?? Not that a Ryker, or better yet, a Spyder, wouldn't be a bucket load of fun, since both are a blast to ride, but I'm a little intrigued as to what's driving the swap for you??

Admittedly, I was already riding a Spyder part time before my first bout of 'crack his chest open' surgery (mine was due to physical damage tho) and having the 3 wheels did make it a little easier to convince all the medics that getting back out with my knees in the breeze ASAP after the surgery would do wonders for my recovery; and the power steering on my 2013 RT has proven to be a great help in targeting the recovery of my traumatised chest & sternum area; but even before any of that, getting back to riding on either 2 or 3 wheels ASAP after surgery has always been one of the best 'aids to recovery' that I've ever used, and most of my Doctors have (eventually) been fine with it, if not actually impressed with its benefits, especially once I've pointed out that I'm not out there hooning &/or racing bikes any more (well, not any more than I used to, anyway!! 😋)

So is there any reason for searching out an alternative to 2-wheel riding??

Thanks for your thoughts, Peter. I'm only 6 weeks out from my surgery so unable to use my upper body much, and I think I'm not trusting my body to heal completely. That feeling may diminish as I get stronger, but at the moment I'm having a hard time seeing me pushing the Triumph around the garage, or picking it up if dropped (not that I plan on doing that). Just getting on and off seems like a challenge to me right now.

Also, I'm not getting any younger (just turned 75) and think owning a Ryker could extend my ability to ride by several years. Furthermore, I live in an area with a lot of gravel roads that I like to explore, and the 3-wheeler may be a bit more stable on the gravel. I'm not going to rush into any decision, and certainly will test ride a Ryker before making one.
