• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Weird drip problem!

Since I purchased my Spyder, I have had a drip coming out of the charcoal canister vent tube underneath. Started the day I picked it up and has been back to the dealer three times with no change. What happens is after I ryde and park it, the vent tube has fumes for the first couple of minutes, then as the engine cools, the vapor condenses into liquid and the drip begins. I usually only get five or six drops and then it all ceases. At first I thought it was gas (I get a gassy smell after shutdown - enough to leave the garage door open for a couple of minutes so it doesn't come into the house) but I've moved the Spyder out and took a lighter to the liquid and it does not burn. My dealer did change out my charcoal canister and the purge solenoid, but the drip continues. My Spyder runs like a champ and when I rode it 360 miles this weekend I got 28MPG. I'm thinking it's an ethanol byproduct from the gas. I started using Startron Starbrite today and will run several tanks to see if this helps. Just wanted to know if anyone had any other ideas on this problem or had run into it. Note-I have tried several different gasoline brands so it does not seem specific to any one brand.

I don't know what gasoline you use, but I will take a guess that could be water. Try going to Shell or Chevron for a few tanks and see if it still happens.

Shell and Chevron are what I use. Have also tried Exxon. I'm thinking water also but with something else because to the touch it feels slicker than water does.

I've had the fuel smell but never a drip that I noticed anyway. I know when it's real hot I tend to smell fuel but not always when it's real hot. :dontknow:

Old fuel that has been in cannister for extended time will gel and feel sticky. Cannister/Vent tube are doing it's intended job...
