Many of us have been caught like this, and it can be frustrating to the poster; so please, let's all be a little understanding and show some tolerance - at least we've got some pics now!
That said, the Forum software here, just like with many other platforms, uses the
TOP LEFT corner of your pics as its 'anchor point', while many/most 'phones & digital cameras in their 'default portrait mode' use the
TOP RIGHT (dunno why they couldn't standardise, but then, I ryde a Can-Am & not a Honda, don't I?! :dontknow: ) So if you post up a pic with the anchor point marked in its exif data as being
its Top Right, the Forum software flips it 90 degrees to comply with
its Top Left anchor point protocol! :gaah:
This is frequently why many Forums &/or slideshow vids on youtube etc either display narrow pics (that've been rotated into landscape mode despite originally having been taken in portrait mode) or they may be reversed (simply mirror imaging them swaps the anchor point to the correct side for the site software, but it can be somewhat confusing to see a Spyder facing left when you are looking at it's right side!! Or for all the pictured text to appear to be written in mirror style!

)
Some (a few? many? :dontknow: ) 'phone/cameras will keep the same picture corner as their anchor point even if you turn them sideways thru 90 degrees to the left, so that by doing that the corner that
WAS Top Right will become the Top Left, so that may be one solution for some - just take all the pics you might want to post in landscape mode; but for those that can't/don't, you will probably need to 'pre-rotate' your pics in something like Paint & save the resulting image with a different name in order to re-locate the anchor point into an agree-able spot for the display software; or you can mirror image your pics to achieve the same result.
Personally, I try to use the 'take pics in landscape mode' thing
first, and on the odd occasion that doesn't work the way I want it to, I rotate my original image in Paint & then save it with a new name/new LH Top anchor point before uploading to the site; but then, I don't usually post a heap of pics!
Over to you all! :thumbup:
