• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Before I contact Lamont am I the only one having problems periodically with the website. Sometimes it just freezes up when trying to get in and sometimes when I am in and try to go to another page it freezes up. Seems to happen at least once every few days, I do look at the site several times a day. When this happens I will hit another favorite site to make sure it is not my modem or router and it always opens those sites immediately.

No such issues here

I am here all the time. Never log off and have had no access issues here

Are you using an iPad? I have the same thing of it "locking up" once in a while with my iPad. It did it a couple of minutes ago.

I've been having issues from time to time. It's always between 8am and 8:40 or so. This morning it was at 8:24. My server guy has looked into it and there is no extra server load and nothing showing in the logs. Not sure what to tell you :dontknow:

Both here and GL1800Riders. I thought it may be related to database locking when someone is posting. Long pause then suddenly released.

Lamont, as usual I knew you were on top of it. Glad to hear it is not my computer, fairly new MAC and always works well. No problem, I just keep coming back and it will work eventually. I probably need to quit looking 10 times a day as I am afraid I may miss some new mod!!!!

Server need coffee, call back 10 minutes.

That being said, have your server guy check the VMWare / or virtualization routines on the cluster the site runs on. Or examine the backup window. Perhaps either the main real server is motioning your server from a night cluster to a day cluster at this time or that a backup routine is finishing up at the end of a round.

Just some things I remember having issues with back when I cared more about servers and computers before I became a chemical mastermind, or just a dangerous as heck chemical amatuer.

A SL Triangle maybe?

The slowdown or inabilty to access at shortly after 8:00 AM Eastern has been occurring for some time...at least a year intermittently. It has seemed to be worse lately, but not much different than most days. I'm just pleased to know it is not my computer or ISP. I always figured it was some sort of maintenance routine on the server. We certainly do become spoiled, expecting instantaneous access all the time and quick results for everything. When the slowdown happens to me in the morning, I just go on to something else for a while. It seldom lasts more than a few minutes.

Yes, I have issues most days in the early morning hours of around 800 EST. Slow to load etc.... Dont notice the issue any other time of day usually. (I check forums about 10 times a day, LOL)
