• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

We now have our new 2012 RTS SE5

We took delivery of our new Spyder on Thursday and we are thrilled to have it. Because we preferred the Magnesium Metallic color, we elected to go with the RTS SE5. We added some goodies to it so I suppose we can call it an RTS Plus. It is not quite a "Limited" but it is equipped the way we wanted it. We added the CB so that we can use the Intercom and we added the GPS and some others options including the travel cover, highway pegs and the high mounted LED brake/tail light. A Utopia backrest is on order and is scheduled to arrive on Tuesday. The matching BRP 622 trailer is also on order and expected to arrive within the next two weeks.

In addition, we elected to purchase the BRP "BEST" 36 month protection plan. We liked the peace of mind of having warranty coverage for a total of 5 years and we also liked the fact that Emergency Roadside Assistance is included for the full 5 years.

We purchased our Spyder from Motosports, Inc located just south of Hanover, PA. They were super to work with throughout the shopping and actual purchase experience. My wife first took a demo ride and then I took a demo ride solo followed by a two up demo. We probably spent close to 8 hours total spread over 4 visits to the dealership deciding what equipment to select and working out the details of the purchase. The color selection turned out to be the most difficult decision, but we are thrilled with the Magnesium color.

Thanks to those on this forum that took the time to answer some questions for me. The information that we received was very helpful. Now we need to get some miles on the Spyder so that we can have the 600 mile service done before we head to Lake George for Americade. This will be my 26th trip to the Rally in Lake George and my wife and I always have a great time there.

Thanks again,
Ed

Congrats on your purchase. It sounds like you have your RT-S well equipped. I hope to pick up mine this week. I stopped by the dealer on Saturday and it was almost put back together. I can't wait.

Make sure you hook up with the guys from new york spyder riders while you are up there at americade. They are working on a spyder ride now. Last years ride was amazing. And all the guys and gals are the best to be around and hang with. About half of them stay in the lake george rv park. We did last year but are unable to go up this year. But next year for sure.

There is also a group in your area that are trying to get a ride together out by state college. I hope to make it over that way some time as well. Check out their thread at http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?38897-Pa-Get-togather

:congrats: it sounds like your RTS is very well equiped. :2thumbs: on the trailer purchase I think you will love it as much as I love mine.

:congrats:on the new :spyder2: I too am a X winger, but there is no turning back now. I love my :spyder2: and I am sure you will too.

Welcome aboard and I also purchased from Motosports and travel 100 miles to have all my service work performed. It's great that you can make an appointment and wait for your service work. The owner Tammy is the best and Ryan the service manager does all the work on the spyders really knows what he is doing. I just had my 3000 mile service done and picked up my Red RT622 trailer.
