• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Today 3 Spyders with 4 youngins' (John and Gail of Seal fame; Dick with the slightly crooked halo and yours truly) of the 70 and up age group rode the legendary Tail of the Dragon.we took hiway thru the smokeys to Cherokee then rode 318 curves in 11 miles. The scenery and the company were AWESOME. The legendary road? Well I can take it off my want to do list. I have the t-shirt and patch..probably no desire to repeat..it was nothing harder than what I've encountered on other roads .. Easily could run 10mph above recommended speed..for me biggest challenge was making sure the right front tire stayed away from the edge if the road.
Understand the best ryding in this area originates out if Maggie Valley NC. So tomorrow the 4 of us will ryde there visit the Wheels if Time Museum..the other 3 will head back to depart for other places. I will stay and ryde ryde ryde for 3 days in MV area Then i will head toward Charleston, Myrtle Beach, Savannah. I have a very long list of recommended places to visit. The Smokey Mts are awesome. Huge thunderstorm as I write this..
Good nite all

THAT AIN'T NUTTIN !!!!!!

Yo Karyl, since you are in that neighborhood have / make someone take you on the " RATTLER " IMHO I think its even better and less traveled I think the actual Route nuber is # 209.....Check with LaMont to make sure....................Mike, Dee, MAX, & Kiki.........ride fast girl :yikes: :shemademe_smilie: :ohyea: :agree:  :2excited:

Glad to hear you got to scratch that one off your list. I agree it is more hype than anything, but it is still fun to run especially at night when there is no other traffic on it. I did that once and only met one car coming from the other way.

On my own

In Savannah, if you have time take in the Savannah theater for a great 50's rock and roll show!!!

You mean those low slung screaming machines ?

Good pics. Who was riding the blue RT with the cool color seat? Also, what were those other 3 wheeled vehicles that were riding the Dragon that day? (Not that I would want one) Various colors. Must have been a large group.
they call them t-Rex. I know nothing about them other than sound really cool wound tight thru the twisties ..

The guy on the blue RT is dick574. The ride was nice but I think there are better roads, i.e. US421 "The Snake" between Mountain City & Bristol.

Yes, those are T-Rexs. They were built before the Spyder and use Hyabusa engines but drive more like a car with a steering wheel. You should notice they were not wearing helmets. Last time I checked the starting price was $50K. It is interesting that you say they wound tight through the twisties. I am sure they can but almost every picture I saw showed them crossing the yellow lines. :lecturef_smilie:
