• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Wax/Polish

Turtle Wax makes some pretty decent stuff...
Personally; I just use the same stuff that the Missus' MINI gets; plain-old car wash soap that's sold everywhere!
McGuiar's Quick Detailer for wipe-downs...
No wax; I don't want to monkey-up my vinyl graphics with it!

Oh!! I almost forgot... :welcome:

original bike spirits

on arntufun's recomendation, i tried the spirits. good stuff. great on bugs, leaves a very nice shine:thumbup:

I use Nu Finish paste wax (Rated #1 by Consumer Reports) in the beginning of the season. It's safe for all paints and plastics. Then for cleaning and touch up I use Plexus.

most detail sprays will work well... honda makes a really good spray simply called honda spray..it may cost a little more but it goes a long way and it lasts a long while..it also works well on windshields and leather....if you have paint applied pin stripping then you need a detail spray that does not have a petroleum base..as petroleum breaks down the paint used in pin stripping and will dull it..as for my windshield i also use lemon pledge and it helps with the bugs and is easy to apply..all so when you get caught in the rain, the drops off of the windshield have a pleasant lemony taste...lolol

Lemon Pledge; Old Standby!
The older versions of it seemed to attract dust, but no so much anymore...
(Or have my eyes gotten worse?)

"Original Spray Cleaner & Polish" ... AKA Honda Wax.

Good day.

Whats products are good to use on all plastic covers on a Spyder to keep it shining?

Thanks

I have found "ORIGINAL SPRAY CLEANER & POLISH" (formerly Honda Cleaner & Polish) in the black, pink and white can, as mentioned in some of these replies, to be the best product for protecting plastic, painted and metal surfaces. After a quick wash, it's easy to apply and remove, and requires very little buffing. Takes the bugs off without scrubbing.
I've used it for years ..... even used to use it on my Alfa Romeo, back in "the day"..
HOWEVER, I DO NOT use it on the windscreen, I prefer PLEXUS for that.

And, remember ... Keep the shiney side UP!

Everyone has his or her favorite. I like the Turtle Wax Ice products, because they leave no white residue. Be aware that while the colored parts are plastic, they are painted, so they can take any automotive polish. The textured black parts and the clear parts are plain plastic, so I would not recommend any wax that leaves a residue. Plain cleaners work better there. Plexus is an outstanding one, I just use Windex Multi-Surface with vinegar. Don't use regular Windex or anything else with ammonia...it will cloud the plastic.

Living in the area of bugs, birds and road tar, I always use synthetic wax on all of my vehicles. My current favorite is Eagle 1 nano wax. Fast, easy and seems to last as long and anything. Also leaves a finish that cleans up easily after a dirty ride.

Original Bike Spirits on everything but the windshield. Plexus on that. And I carry a small can of Plexus with me in the trunk because it works on visors too.

I use nu finish also. Used to use 3m products when I ran my auto detailing business. But now that I only do my own I use something that is easy to work with and gives a nice shine!

If you want one of these.....................
