• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

WATERPROOF Glove Suggestions

Rain-off Gloves

I use Rain-Off gloves as it means I can just put them over my summer or winter motorbike gloves. They actually keep your hands warmer as well, often use my summer gloves with these in winter as that gives me better feel than just having my winter gloves on. Having tried out many different options over the years and these the most affective + I've not had any issue with the feel of controls unlike a couple of other makes of over gloves I've had in the past. I use the 2 finger ones but they have one finger ones as well - that sounds wrong but you'll get the idea:-)

New Zealand product but there are stockists in Australia, US and UK.

I'm guessing the prices are in New Zealand dollars on their site.

There are some very good gloves out there as previous threads pointed out. I have some very waterproof insulated (thinsolate) gloves and I find my hands getting wet and cold during long rides sometimes. This is caused by not enough evaporation and sweat building up causing cold hands. I try to keep a lighter pair of gloves as a backup when my hands get cold. Also if your gloves are to tight it causes circulation problems which will cool your hands.

I would like suggestions for WATERPROOF gloves that anyone is using and are convinced that they are WATERPROOF. I purchased some water resistant gloves and was riding on the highway and I would say they worked reasonably well. We then were riding through Yellowstone in a pretty good rain at about 40 mph for almost 2 hrs, temps in the lower 40s and my hands got wet and cold. Suggestions would be appreciated. I'm looking for myself a Christmas present. Thanks, John

my WATER-PROOF GLOVES which aren't really water-proof are nice gloves... and about 2 or 3 times per Winter season, i'll spray them with WD-40, and that works just fine.... i don't know if it will work on leather, vinyl, etc, but the material mind are made of seems to do the trick....

Didn't your mother tell you not to play in the rain?

No she didn't. She just said we had to dry off before we came in the house. Long as there wasn't any lightning she would let us play in the rain. LOL.

I have a friend who says he never got wet before he started riding with me. Says I'm a jinx. I tell him he was just a fair weather rider before he started riding with me. He's an HD rider. :roflblack:
