• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. 998cc Water Pump Weep Hole Leaking Oil...It's Gotta Be the Seal

Hi Everyone-

So I have noticed for some time a small oil leak under the Spyder. I have been thinking I should get it taken care of so after a lot of reading, my suspicion seems to be correct. Lots of oil spatter around the clutch cover assembly, oil and grit under the bike on the frame.

I've included some photos...

When you take a look, does it look like it is time to tear her apart and do the repair or should I wait a while longer? There is no radiator fluid leaking yet from what I see, just oil, and I do not have to add oil very often.

In the 2nd photo, there is a fair amount of oily grit around the weep hole to the point, you cannot see the weep hole...Should I at the very least clean that up and keep a closer eye on it?

Thank you,
I always appreciate the expertise of everyone on SpyderLovers :D

Well, I'll be a monkey's uncle (following on from my last post :roflblack:) it IS the very same issue.

But then again, maybe I'm taking credit where only silence is due - as below.

You can clean her up and keep a eye on it, but I think you are going to be doing a water pump job soon!! It will not take very long to tell if it's weeping, they you will be rebuilding it soon!
