There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Water messing up my audio system

On my return trip from Spyderfest I went through a fair amount of rain, some pretty heavy, and some places through pretty good puddles. Anyway, my radio started to act up. The signal from my GPS would fade out, then come back, then fade again, and then finally quit altogether. This is all through a wired headset. Also, the CB screen would not show up on the cluster. The iPod signal also disappeared and I think the FM did too. So I unplugged my headset and put the cord away. After a couple of days of riding in dry and somewhat sunny weather I noticed the CB screen showed every time I went to the trip meter screen to reset the odometer after gassing up. I decided to check out the headset. It was working, GPS, iPod, and FM, and has been working since. That is, everything except CB transmit. It appears to be totally dead. CB receive and intercom work.

I'm thinking the so called waterproof connectors in the radio and entertainment harnesses may not be so waterproof after all. Has anyone else ever encountered such a problem where something quit working after being in wet weather and then have it start working after everything has dried out?

There was a water intrusion fix (bulletin) that came out in 2013. Water was running down the radio's antenna and getting into the radio itself. The fix was to lube the antenna connector and seal it with heat shrink tubing.

Supposedly all the TBs have been taken care of my Spyder. Did that apply to 2013s, or just earlier ones? The water intrusion fix that involved the fuse boxes was done but I don't recall that it had anything to do with the antenna.

I had the back end open when I installed the CB but I don't recall what the condition of the antenna plug is. But I question whether my problem is related to that since the CB is a separate unit and the headsets get their feed from the CB unit. I also checked the passenger headset connector. It was dead when the driver one was dead.

Oh, I did have audio through the speakers from the GPS and iPod the whole time so obviously the audio unit was not affected.

FYI as I think you know. The CB gets it's can instructions THROUGH the radio. So based on the screens going away and what not, whatever connector is getting wet or whatever, it messing with the can-buss. If the radio is also going from the screen then it is losing comms over can-buss with the cluster. Could be an issue with the main harness that the radio connects to.

I'm thinking it had to be one of the connectors between the radio and CB, killing the CB to radio communication, or downstream from the CB causing the CB to go wonkers. The radio screen with all its normal options stayed available the whole time. Only the CB screen disappeared. There is one connector that could easily get wet. That's the one where the driver headset plugs into the bike main harness. It's in the region just above the oil tank. I wonder if removing the bottom splash plates to aid air flow [heat problem remedy] would allow more water to get up there into that region?
