• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Washing my Baby.

When at home I wash with a waterhose every time. I spray directly at the gauges, switches and waterproof GPS twice. Once to presoak and once to rinse. I do not avoid any areas at all. They are waterproof. When on the road I have used a car wash pressure wash. There of course you must keep a minimum distance of away about 1 foot just like a car or you will strip the paint off.

I don't know where people get the idea that you can't get them wet. If something leaks tell BRP to fix it. That's what warranty is for. Ignore the worrying grannies. Drive it. Get it dirty. Wash it. Repeat.

:agree: that they were designed to be waterproof, and it should never be an issue.

"Just because it's trained circus lion; do you really want to put your head into it's mouth?" :dontknow:
The gauges and switches can be easily cleaned with a damp cloth. I just don't see the need to tempt fate.
That's all! :D

A water leak is way different than training lions.

If it's going to leak. I want to know when it's new and under warranty. Not accidently after the warranty is off.

If you should get any swirls or light scratches in the windshield/windscreen, I give NOVUS 2 a big thumbs up. I was going to get rid of my CHAD windshield after 8 years, and many swirls/light scratches. My dealer recommended NOVUS 2, and it did such a great job, I'll probably get another 8 years out of it, both the windshield, and 2008 GS.

What's wrong with leaving the job to the Professionals?? :dontknow:

It's obvious that they've been trained to handle exactly this sort of job! :D

I see that they are at the wash station; but, what do they do at the service station, which is the next station according to the arrow.

I have never worried about using the garden hose to wash my Spyder, dash and all. I avoid power washing those areas but otherwise, no problem. Never had a problem with doing that on any bike I've owned.

 I was afraid to ask... :opps:
I mean: would you want them changing the oil on YOUR Spyder?? :D
Or checking the tire pressures??

You are a wise and intelligent man. Like I said there was no Dry Clean Only sticker on mine.

When washing with a hose, remember to take the key out so that little flap inside will block the keyhole. Otherwise, water can run down the key and into the switch.

Maybe that's not a problem, but I don't want to find out the hard way.

BUGS away wash

What I do is lightly spray down the bike to get rid of the dust which can cut the finish. Then I get rid of the bugs splat by using a wet bounce fabric sheet e.g.. outdoor fresh, BUGS GONE.
Next use Harleys S 100 cleaner by spraying it on the entire trike, spray off with garden hose. Then I use Meguiars gold class wash, wash off with an open end hose. The final step is to use my wet vac as a leaf blower and the bike shines like it just came off the showroom floor
