• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Warranty on Windshield Fix & Unusual Shop Charge

Took our 2014 RT Ltd in two weeks ago for first year service, speaker repair and replacement of center windshield bolt... it fell out while riding. When I picked it up a few days ago, the speakers were repaired under warranty, however, the windshield was not covered... I was surprised. Anyone else, have this repair covered by warranty?

I was also surprised to see a two charges on the bill for "Hazardous Material Disposal." One for $1.47 on the windshield repair, and one for $4.70 on the first year service. I was also charged for Shop Supplies... I've seen these before from other dealers but never hazardous material disposal charges. Anyone else been charged for hazardous material disposal?

Warranty

On a 2014??? Your bike should still have LOTS of warranty left...
Your dealer just picked your pocket! :gaah:

One year left on warranty. BRP declined to cover the replacement of the center windshield bolt. I think I will call BRP for an explanation.

Yes you should. They have covered plenty of them. Its a known defective design and there is NOTHING in the warranty contract that would let them NOT cover it. Its a structural part of the windshield. NOT cosmetic. It would even be covered by the BRP BEST extended warranty. Do not take your dealers word for it. They want to be paid by you, full tilt for repairs.

Also PM BRPCARES for assistance.

My windshield bolt fell out within a month of ownership. I thought someone shot at me when the windshield slammed to the dash. Luckily, Ace Hardware was in sight and one of the staff found me a bolt to fit. My dealer replaced it with the appreciate parts...no charge. They also commented that I wasn't their first one with the problem.

Interesting..!!

Not being the whole bill its hard to say. Here in CA there is always a hazardous material charge. Every fluid on the machine is considered hazardous..:roflblack: supplies is a recent charge becoming the norm, that $1.47 must be the bolt but if the $4.70 is all they charged you for the 3,000 service you made out like a bandit...:roflblack::roflblack: Always keep in mind there are two involved in these things..the dealer and brp. Some dealers get it done right some don't and some don't even try. Hope hes one of the better ones and your bill was reasonable...
