• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Thank You. That answered my question about what they were using to mount the Zumo. Now the fabrication starts....

When you've got it done Dave, make 2 and let me know what you want for it and postage to Australia....:2thumbs:

Here is a picture of a Garmin GPSmap 478 installed by using all thread rods (jam nuts located at the original depth and an aluminum plate cut to the size of the Garmin Bracket.) The 478 is obsolete but has marine and street maps and with the XM antenna can pick up XM Radio and XM weather radar overlays)

Threaded Rods

I was contemplating an identical set up for mounting my Garmin 2610 GPS using the handle bar cover bolts and a rigid plate. Unfortunately, I am still awaiting delivery of my RT S :( and do not have access to the machine to check out thread size and length of rod required for this mod. I you can share any info on the thread size/length of rod used in your mod it would help me in my planning for future mods.
Another question: Did you hot wire your GPS and run a cable up through the handle bar covers in your installation?

Any real world wisdom you can pass my way would be greatly appreciated.
