• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Want a Custom Sway-Bar for your RT ????

I would like to start an official RT Sway Bar Waiting List.

Being on this list does not obligate you to anything. It just gives me an idea of how many bar kits I need to order in the 1st run. This isn't going to be one of those 'Customer R&D' programs where later bars are going to be 'New and Improved'. This bar is going to be right and work well before I sell any to you. So you don't have to be fearful of the 'Guinea Pig' syndrome.

So, if you are interested I would greatly appreciate an email to me at [email protected] with your real name and your SpyderLover user name. Spyderlovers will get 1st shot at these bars, and as always, at a lower price, before I offer them retail. Having this list makes it much easier for me to keep track of those who are interested. I can then send updates directly to your email address and notify you when the bars are ready to ship.

I am also posting updates on the RT Shop Talk forum.

I am genuinely excited about this project. Most RT riders have stiffened up their shock springs in an attempt to control lean angle. While this helps some, it also gives you a harsher ride. With my sway bar on your RT you're not only going to get much better lean control than with a stiffer shock setting, but you will be able to reduce your shock spring setting and get back to a smoother ride as well.

I want to thank all of you for your great support and encouragement. Without it I would not be doing any of this. I feel like we are in this together! This is as much your project as it is mine! :ohyea:

Definitely interested. I have switched out my 2010 shocks for 2011. Could still use some help in handling without spending the money on the ELKAS.

Color has not yet been decided. I'm still aways out so no use pulling the trigger on color yet. I'm still looking for input on that decision. But Red seems to be the favorite so far. Not sure about making both the RS and the RT bar the same color. We'll see.

Elkas will always give you an improvment to whatever setup you have. But I think you will be impressed with the Sway-Bar regardless of the shocks you're running.

I'm also curious about where the pricing is going to be...

Pricing will be higher than for the RS bar simply because material costs are more. There are other factors involved because I had to reinvent the wheel in some respects. Right now I'm pretty confident that pricing will be very reasonable but I don't want to set cost until I have a working unit in my hands.

Hey Ron,
PM sent

You're on the list at #14.

I'm in. Sent you email and PM

I am interested. I have SpyderPops Skid Plate on my RT. Do you know if there would be any issue with this skid plate and the sway bar? I wouldn't think so but I just want to be sure before I commit.

Ron,
I THINK that I sent you a PM...
Something went a bit wonky though!

I got your PM and you're on the list. If you can, it's easier for me if you send an email to my [email protected] address. You can just click on the underlined hyperlink and zip an email off to me.

If we choose to get one, are you going to install it at Lamont's BBQ?

I am a ways out on delivering the RT Sway Bars. They will not be ready any time soon.

I can install sway bars for the RS, GS & RS-S Spyders at the BBQ.

Thanks Ron!
I hit Something on the keyboard and the message that I was working on just went... "POOF!" I'm glad that enough of it got to you to count me in!

Oh My Gosh! I've created a MONSTER! Or maybe I should say, I've disturbed the monster. :yikes:

I am going to post a description of what a Sway Bar does in the world of Spyder Suspension in the RT ShopTalk forum if you want more detailed information.

I am getting a lot of good questions. Rather than continue to answer them individually I'm going to try this mass answer approach.

Q: Will the new sway bar interfere with SpyderPops Bump Skid?
A: No, my custom sway bar will not conflict with anything that is compatable with the original sway bar. And since no one, to my knowledge, has been foolish enough to take their sway bar off to accomodate any modification, this will not be an issue.

Q: How much will the RT sway bar cost?
A: Nothing is sure until I get this project done. But right now everything is looking good at no more than $225 delivered. I want to stress that this is just an estimate at this point.

Q: What color will the RT bars be?
A: I have not settled on a color yet. There is a thread on the RT ShopTalk forum discussing possible options. Right now Red, Black and Blue have been suggested with Red probably being the most popular.

Q: Will this Sway Bar work with Elka (or other custom) shocks? Will this sway bar make any difference with my Elka, etc., shocks?
A: The sway bar will work with and enhance any shock/spring setup you may be running. Though the Shocks and Sway Bar work together, they perform 2 completely different functions.

Q: Are these sway bars hard to install?
A: 'Hard' is a relative term, but these sway bars are one of the easiest mods you can install on your Spyder. Harder than the IPS Key Cover, easier than spark plugs & wires.

Q: Will you ship these overseas?
A: Yes, When they are ready to ship I will ship them world wide. Shipping costs will vary depending on where you are. Shipping to Canada will be about $10.00

I wish I had them ready to ship today. The soonest I think that we might expect them would be the middle of October. I'll keep you posted.
