• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Wait for 2013?

I am considering purchasing an RS soon, however it seems like the upgrades on the suspension/ chassis are significant for 2013. Would it be a good idea to wait for the 2013's to come in?

I would nojoke
:welcome:

You best heed Lamont's advice. I sure did and I'm glad glad glad I did.

Chris
PS: Nothing is to prevent you from putting a deposit down for a 2013 now.

PSS: How much riding time do you have if you purchased and started riding a 2012 now.

It really comes down to what you want and are willing to pay for. If the current model handles, stops and looks ok for your type of riding, save the money and get a 2012. If the changes are going to be important to you in the way you ride, pay the extra money and get the 2013. If you want the improvements in the 2013 and buy the 2012, you won't be happy.

You need to figure How Much You can save?
Are you getting a Great deal on a 2012 RS thats $4-5000 Less than they will ask for the 2013 RS?
Sway bar and shocks cost about $800 for a RS and you would be 100 Pounds Lighter than the New 2013 RS!!!!!!!!!
If you get a Great Deal on a 2012 RS (and I mean at Least $4,000 less than Retail with just Tax and Registration) I would buy the 2012?
IMHO:dontknow:

:agree: Wait until you can see and test drive the 2013. If there are still 2012's you can test those also and do a comparison to see if the differences in price is worth it.

Based on what everyone is saying so far--the 2013's seem the way to go if you want the best handling.

Let us know what you decide.

Thanks for the help. I am going to wait for the '13.

I wouldn't be riding much until spring. I haven't been negotiating on any 2012's, but there are a few slightly used 2010's available that I was interested in if the price was right.

Maybe I'll go to the Clevland motorcycle show in Jan to check out the 2013 models.

If you are really interested in the 2013, do yourself favor and go to the show !! You will not be disappointed.

I think you should wait

The fact that you are talking about suspension/ chassis to me indicates that you should wait. I have a spyder and don't know anything about either of those words so my 2012 is the bomb for me. All the folks that really understand the spyder are really excited about the upgrades so hold on a month or so and get the 2013. Now that they are about to be rolled out at the dealerships you won't have much of a wait. Good luck!

Me too...

I too, have decided to wait for the 2013, although there is a 2012 red RT-S calling my name at the dealer in Cedar Rapids.:gaah: Even though I've never met Lamont, he seems to be a person I can trust so I trust him when he says that the 2013's suspension and ride are much better than the previous versions. Besides, it's too cold around here to be riding anyway.

Tony
