There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. VSS error when charging Mobile phone in 12-volt power outlet

I get a VSS error when starting my Spyder (2014 RT) after i plugged my phone for charging in the 12-volt power outlet. No steering whatsoever.
When i unplug the phone and restart the Spyder, the VSS error is gone.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?
I got it all the times i plugged in my phone for charging.

To me this does not make sense. Either my bike as an issue or BRP as an issue with the 12V power outlet.

Thanks for any feedback.

What 12V power outlet? Did you add one or something?
Sounds like whoever wired it may have tapped in to 12V somewhere they should not have.

I bet he is plugged in to the socket in the rear trunk. There have been many china produced lighter socket to usb adapters that generate a huge amount of switched mode noise. I have one here that generates over 2 volts peak to peak and suspect that maybe enough ripple to upset the spyders electrical system.

I would try a different charge adapter for your phone, should resolve the issue.

12V

i'm plugging it in to the Rear trunk socket.
Tried 2 different chargers.
No electrical Farkle installed yet.

Try moving the fuse in the fuse block. The fuse for the socket can be moved for the socket to be on all the time or to operate with the key on only. See if this makes a difference. I still think it is the adapter you are using.

Curious..!!

have you tried other electronics..?? Gps, detector etc to see if it has the same effect. If your using an adapter from lighter to usb have you tried a different one. It would seem it is in the outside items and not in the power outlet. :dontknow:

Now that I'm home i cannot recreate it. :banghead::banghead::banghead:
Will try again another day.

Thanks for all the input.
