As a photographer I can tell you that photographing red is tricky. The overcast skies really helped capture it's true color. It's really gorgeous!!

:agree: Everything about the color red is tricky from painting using the color red to photographing red to keeping the red paint looking great on a vehicle is all tricky but well worth the effort.

Very good example on how the direct sunlight affects the color. Overcast skies, in photography, allows the hues to be more brilliant than they would be in direct sunlight. I actually prefer an over-cast or a somewhat cloudy day to shoot outdoors.
