• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Viper Red RT

This couple had just purchased their Red RT the day of our first membership meeting for our local Spyder riding club and then showed up the next day for a 100+ mile ride. I shot some pictures of this beautiful sled. I do foresee one of these in our garage in then next 18 months. :)

Those pics (in the daylight) are some of the best representations of the actual color that I have seen. Maybe still a little oranger, but close. It is hard to describe this color adequately until you see it in person. Thanks!

scotty is right! only pictures i have seen that are close to what it actually looks like. it always looks orange in most pics. good job! and congrats to the lucky couple!:congrats:

As a photographer I can tell you that photographing red is tricky. The overcast skies really helped capture it's true color. It's really gorgeous!!

It looks like I made the right choice when I ordered my red RT. Scotty, when are you going to put yours on the road?

You are going to love it!! Once we get the car paid off (by the end of this year) and the Spyder paid off (by the end of next year) we'll be trading the Phantom GS in on a red RT-S SE5 for the hubby.... unless they come out with another color we like better.

It's such a gorgeous machine. You made a fine choice.

Okay, it's red

but is the 2011 RT Red the same red as the 2010 RS red?

:yes::spyder2: :yes:

Whether or not, it is absolutely gorgeous!!!!

Can't wait to see one on the road....

I'm trying to figure that out, too. It sure looks more red, but there is a lot more of it, so that may not be. I had never looked closely at the RS red, so I did not realize that it was not metallic or pearl, either. We'll have to see the two side-by-side, I guess....unless BRP releases the new paint codes soon.

To me, that photo makes the red look like a pastely orange-ish red color, and it really isn't that way at all in person. If it isn't the same as the Roadster Red, it's pretty darn close. Either way, it's a GORGEOUS machine. Looking forward to the day we have one of these parked next to Charlotte in the garage. :D

I don't know why you guys are getting all bent out of shape on the quality of the color of the red Spyder. You can make it just about any color you want by adjusting the Hue and Saturation on YOUR monitor(s). I'll bet each one of us sees it differently even though it is from a single source.

LOL! I'm not bent out of shape. And that is absolutely correct. I could make it look purple if I wanted to. :roflblack:

Yours was taken on a cloudy day and mine was taken on a sunny day, it's the same paint and it will look different depending on the light source and the camera. I think the picture I posted looks pretty much the way it did when I was standing there looking at it.

Fair enough. It's all about the white balance. It really does affect the way colors appear in photographs, especially reds. Like I said, either way its a nice color. And if you've seen the RS in red, then you have a good idea of what the RT red looks like as it is very similar, if not the same.

Here's a pic of the one in Daytona taken in the shade. You can see where the sun hits it on the fender it looks orange. Otherwise a beautiful red.
Wish I could make my pics as big as the others here- I haven't figured out how to do that yet...

Very good example on how the direct sunlight affects the color. Overcast skies, in photography, allows the hues to be more brilliant than they would be in direct sunlight. I actually prefer an over-cast or a somewhat cloudy day to shoot outdoors.

:agree: I love the red on my RS . . . and when I heard BRP was coming out with the red RT, I thought it would be too much red. . . . but those pics really changed my mind. Whether or not it's the same red, it's a beaut!

I may have to call our dealer to see if the red one they have ordered has been set up . . . I can't wait to see it.
