• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I have a 2015 Spyder RT SE6 purchased April 2015
I am about to have my 9,000 mile service my 3,000 mile service was last Aug

I noticed the following

Rust on fuel tank

I have just removed my Tupperware on my Spyder to give it a deep clean
i noticed rust along the edge on both sides of the fuel tank
(see photo)

I have a safety concern that this may lead to fuel leaking from the fuel tank and this could lead to a fire
Has anyone else found this issue and if so what was BRP response

I am going to ask my dealer to check this issue with a request to make a warranty claim to have the tank replaced

Never seen that before. My 2013 RT is in for repair, and I stopped by the dealer last Friday to look at it with all of the Tupperware off, and my tank looks fine.

2012 RT-S, I bought it used just this April. I put just around 3k miles on it over this season, into my garage for the oil change...found the same rust pattern on my gas tank. Nothing noted on the underside of the seam, so I suspect dirt buildup is trapping moisture. Upon closer inspection it looks like simple surface rust.

Given my ryde is out-of-warranty, I'm going to lightly sand it and see what type of high-temp paint would work to protect the metal from further damage. If anyone has suggestions, I'm all ears.

Its surface rust where the pinch weld destroyed the coating on the surface. See this on every Spyder we have in the shop. Will not progress or rust through. At least the 08 GS bikes still have not and they had the same surface rust at that weld.

No concern here.

If it worries you wire brush it off to a clean bright surface where you can reach and put a coat of Rustoleum on it.
