• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Vietnam Vets Traveling Tribute

ALL GAVE SOME, SOME GAVE ALL

The Traveling Tribute was in Boonville NY the week of June 20th....I had to go see it and thought I would share a little of it.
It was so emotional, I have to tell you that dry eyes were uncommon!
Throughout the week they read off every soldier's name over the P.A. system on a daily basis.
God bless them all and God bless America!

That is always a moving experience to look at the wall, see the names, remember the faces and ask why.

I had the privilege of escorting "The Wall" a couple of years ago when it was on display at Lackland AFB, Texas. My step-mom's brother served in Vietnam and is among the names engraved on the wall; may they always be remembered and honored.

Operation DESERT SHIELD (1990)
Operation DESERT STORM (1991)
Operation SOUTHERN WATCH (2000)
Operation ENDURING FREEDOM (2001)

I've been to The Wall, twice.

The last time was with an old friend who did two tours in 'nam as a grunt Marine before getting out and becoming an Air Force officer. As we were walking along, he stopped, stared at a name, and burst into tears. The name of a kid he served with in 'nam was on the wall . . . he knew the kid had gone home from the tour they served, together, but he'd lost touch with him, and didn't know he had gone back and been killed. We both quickly became basket cases. I have friends, there, too.

I don't think I have another visit in me . . . too much sadness for this old man, when I am reminded of all those fine young people who died. All of them are in my heart for the rest of my days . . .

Just got an e-mail from PGR to escort the traveling wall on the 4th. of July. Don't know If I will make it, going to try. It also includes entrance in for any PGR rider, quite a few bands etc.

I have been honored to escort the Moving Wall several times, when I was very active. Each time is a new time and each time it is a sad time.
I have to the Wall in DC three times. It took a long time before I went the first time, but it helps. Suggest a friend go with you if you do not want to go alone.
ALL GAVE SOME, SOME GAVE ALL
Not everybody who died over there came Home in a metal case. Some sat in a seat.
If you ask some VN vet when they in VN, they will answer, last night.
Sadly all three are true

April 2013 I had the honor of being among some 600 riders escorting The Wall That Heals. The largest of the traveling Walls and the one that is an exact replica of the Wall. This is the Wall that gets updated as the Vietnam Memorial Wall is updated. Here's a video from that day. I have not been to the Wall in DC. Maybe someday. But as a good friend and Vietnam combat vet told me not long ago, "Their names are etched in stone. If I can't read those names, they will remain alive in my mind".
