• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Videos of installation of multiple TricLED LED products

I live in central Ohio and had an opportunity to visit Reggy to see TricLEDs various products as they were installed on his RT. I was primarily interested in products that would increase our safety. A few days later I ordered seven products:

  1. 2 piece center run/stop dual functioning LED (3rd and 4th brake light)
  2. Top LED Light Bar (another brake light)
  3. Saddlebag run/brake/yellow turn signal (I really want whatever is behind me to know that I am slowing down)
  4. Rear Saddlebag LED
  5. Safety LED Super Package (amber reflector and rear red reflector)
  6. Long distance high power LED spotlights
  7. DRL white LED & dual color with yellow turn signal

A couple weeks back I finally started the installation of the LEDS. Previously I had installed Gear Brake's Brake Light Flasher Module (http://gearbrake.com/collections/shop/products/brake-light-flasher-module). That is the component that causes the brakes to flash as can be seen in the videos. Started at the back of the RT and installed the first three packages that I listed. Access to the electrical connectors on the RT was a challenge mainly because I didn't understand the sequence needed to remove the tail light assembles. The extent I went was NOT necessary, I removed the entire rear cargo assembly. But having done so I then understood what was needed to get the tail lights out. Here are two videos that show what I did.

I love these products and I think that it greatly enhances our visibility.

Next I installed item 6, the long distance high power LED spotlights. Actually I have yet to wire into a power source for these lights. Thinks about adding a Fuzeblock to support these lights. Here is a video I shot yesterday of where this project is at the moment.

I hope to finish this project today and move on to the remaining packages.

Thanks for the videos, PJ. I have just bought a pair for my F3-L, but am struggling with installation. Could I ask what you ended up using as the power source for your LED spotlights? I would like to run them off my high beam power as long as they don't overload it (it's a separate light from low beam out here in OZ).

I ended up going directly to the battery for power and ground. Thought about wiring them so they could only be turned on if the high beams were on but decided against it. As it sets now I can turn them on to any intensity desired as long as the ignition is on. I used an angle setting tool and have set the face of the lights down from level just 5 degrees. So far I have not had anyone flashing me for high beams and the lights give me plenty of additional illumination. I wanted additional lateral lighting as we leave in the country and need to have as much clear view of the sides of the roads as possible. Plenty of deer in out area.

I would suggest that if you need furhter installation ideas contact Reggy at TriceLED. Their contact info is in their ad on the this forum's Home page.

Good luck, know you will love them.

Thanks PJ.....we are in the country too, so thanks for the tip about the angling. Plenty of Roos out here  Two clarifications if I may......you say you went directly to the battery for power and ground, but later you say they only operate when the ignition is on......that has confused my poor limited brain;).......and how did you mount the dimmer?

Yes, I have spoken to Cindy and Reggy from Tricled regarding my DRLs. They are extremely helpful.

Regards

My mistske... they will turn on even with the ignition off.

Mount position is in the space between the four switches on the console.

Thanks

Thanks PJ.....with MY memory, I am bound to leave them on at some time if they run straight off the battery. I'll have dig around for some switched power
