Vibration destroys stabilisation in phone?

Hi guys and gals,

I have a new Samsung S22 ultra which has built in stabilisation for photography.

I have a Combo Bolt - Arm - 1"ball - X Grip RAM (All years - models except with Tri-Axis handlebars) from canamspyderaccessories.

Do I have to worry that the vibrations from my Spyder 2016 RTS will destroy my phone? I use it for google maps.

Do you use dampeners?

Thanks
Stef.

Don’t know about Samsung phones but there is notice out that vibration will kill iPhone camera stabilization. Am

You only have to worry about Apple phones. Samsung phones are rock solid and there are no concerns about vibration, like on a handlebar. I have had my S22 Ultra on my handlebar for months with no ill affects.

I'm guessing that the image stabilization feature is active only when in the camera mode, so I wouldn't think so.

You might be better off asking that question on a Samsung forum?

There is a general warning on the internet for mobile phones on motorcycles. As my phone wasn’t cheap I want to make sure nothing happens. I am looking into the Quadlock dampener right now.

Samsung S20+ and I use it for GPS, no issues for me with over 4,000 miles. Phone mounted to the center handlebar cover with a Tackform mount.

I think the only thing to worry about is that Xmount, they vibrate plenty and also push buttons on the side of phones
I have a cure for all that

Asked the same question on another forum, I use an SP mount, and they stated, only apple phones need a dampener, for samsung phones, there is no need for an additional dampener, hope to satisfy you with this answer.

Vibration destroys stabilization in phone

Have used the Quad lock system with an Otter case for my Motorola and have over 30,000 miles without issues.

Thank you all for your answers! I bought myself the quadlock syatem with dampener just to be on the safe side.

I have an iPhone 11 and use Lamonster's version of the TackForm Mount in the center of my F3S bars as well as center bar mounted on my Victory Vision. I've never had a stabilization issue. Now, that said, my son used an X-Grip with his iPhone 11 on his Honda CB500X and toasted his stabilization sensor. So it can certainly happen - but I've had no issues on the Spyder.

Anything with optical image stabilization can get busted on a motorcycle handlebar - it's not unique to iPhones. Some people never have a problem, others have it break after just a few rides. No matter how you mount it, you're gambling.

That’s what I read on the internet. I will try a dampener, even though I am not convinced it guarantees that nothing can happen.

I use SP Connect for my phone (Samsung S10+) with a dampener - I rather be safe then sorry.

So when using your phone on the Spyder I would use a dampener.

I use a sp mount, and no dampener, cause samsung does not come with a mechanical optic, all their models use a digital solution. nnever the less, every bike vibrates, but I for one, use it like 2 yrs now, and haven't gottten any issues

Sorry guys, I’m kind of thick un the head today.......what the heck is an “sp mount”?

I can’t believe you don’t know what an SP mount is, Brucie :yikes: …… but just for the sake of clarity, can someone explain what an SP mount is…….just for Brucie, of course…..:ohyea:
