• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Vibration at 65-75 kmh - tires or what?

Hello fellow riders! I have a vibration between 65 to 75 kmh… the dealership told me it could be out balaned or because its a 2019 and I bought it this spring (2021), the tire could have devlopped a flat spot by sitting that long in the box… does anyone experienced the same?

I would think if there was a flat spot on one or more of the tires, you would notice it at any speed.

I would take the tires in to be balanced. Take note/pics of the weights on the tires before and after, may be surprised. Tire balance is probably not part of the PDI, and the dealer will probably not cover the cost.

The stock Kendas are notorious for having problems and imbalance is just one. Getting them balanced on a good machine will help. A Rednaxns60 said; take before and photos and record the amount of weight. I think you will be shocked.
To get rid of the problem altogether, put on car tires. Many here, if not most have Federal Formoza tires on the front. I am one and find them to be way superior to those crappy Kendas in every respect.

So i went to a tireshop and my front tires were out of balanced and my rear tire is out of circle…. Kenda are burning their name with these poorly made tires… my dealer gave me another kenda for free and i ll give it another chance. If it doesn’t work i ll go with a car tire!

If it continues, Is it the belt not tires? That’s the normal belt vibration speed. Touch lower but if it persists with new tires check belt tension.

Its the belt. Go faster or slower and you'll lose the vibration. You'll find the sweet spot when you ride more.

OMG! It s like I have a completely different Ryker! It is so smooth now! And I lower the pressure on the rear tire from 28 to 24 psi and i will test maybe 20 to see if it makes a difference! I should have done that since day one!

If you are still running an OE spec Kenda on your Ryker, lowering your tire pressure anything much below the recommended pressure is NOT RECOMMENDED!! :lecturef_smilie:

The OE Spec Kendas are quite lightly constructed, and often poorly constructed too; so the Kendas REALLY NEED THEIR RECOMMMENDED PRESSURE to remain safe! Anything much less than those pressures is definitely going to be risky! :banghead:

But if you're running a Passenger Car tire with a higher load rating than the OE Spec Kendas, then the tire is capable of carrying so much more at the higher pressures that running those higher pressures is probably just as dangerous, compromising ride, handling, traction, suspension compliance, tread wear, and even puncture resistance! Running lower pressures in a stronger, more capable car tire will counter the 'over-inflation' you'd get by running the recommended pressures for the Kendas in those car tires due to the lighter load a Spyder/Ryker imposes on the tire/s; which means lowering the pressure in car tires will improve their traction, ride, handling, suspension compliance, tread wear etc.... :ohyea:

So if you've got car tires fitted to your Spyder/Ryker, you can and should use lower pressures in them; but you should NOT AT ALL go much lower than the recommended pressures for any OE Kendas you still have fitted! :yikes:

Make sense?? :dontknow:
