Very pleased with Corbin

I received and installed a Corbin seat (rider,back rest, passenger) last night and am very pleased with the quality and ease of install. The seat arrived 6 days after I ordered which totally surprised me. Corbin had the seat in stock!!
After installing all manner of do-dads on my Spyder including Givi bags one of the minor pains was the procedure involved to remove the seat to gain access. The two piece Corbin greatly simplifies that. The passenger seat has a key lock release. Just one turn of the key and Wallah - off comes the seat allowing open access to the entire rear end. I also like the Corbin swing down arm under the rider's seat for refueling - very nice. The Corbin also works with the BRP rear rack and passenger back rest.
The Corbin's fit is great as is the comfort. The rider's seat releases using the existing Spyder ignition key seat release. The passenger seat also utilizes the Spyder's passenger relay. This is the first time I have ever replaced a cycle seat after owning 32 bikes and now I wonder what I have missed on all those previous machines.
If you are shopping for a seat you might want to take a look at the Corbin.:2thumbs:

I really did not have any issues with the factory seat on my :spyder2:, but yesterday I ordered my Corbin seats (Black with Red chording). Yes, I can see how it would be easier to gain access to everything under the seat.....

As a side note --- Corbin has a great DVD showing all the add-ons they make for the Spyder... nice job of making the DVD... you can order one--- they are free.:clap:

Love the Corbin concepts but my backrest has been replaced twice and their prices are crazy. Nice folks though.

I absolutely LOVE my Corbin seat! LOVE IT! I had an awful problem with the stock seat. I felt like I was riding on my tailbone rather than my (ahem) more padded parts -- really tough on longer rides!

My Corbin has solved that problem! The seat fits me like a glove! This is the first time I've sat in a position to actually rest up against that rise in the seat! I'm short, 5'4", and on the stock seat, I sat about 2" - 3" away from the rise -- not comfortable at all!

I also wanted the Corbin backrest, but the price is a killer. A kind person on this board suggested looking on eBay. I found a new backrest that fits the Corbin seat for $80 + $15.50 for shipping! It came yesterday, and although the leather is a little more shiny than my Corbin seat, for the difference in price, I can live with it! It feels great too! Can't wait for a test ride!

But as for the seat, HOORAY CORBIN!!!

First time the whole damn thing started coming apart. Second time it was a faulty mounting bracket.

My wife and I like our Corbin seats, too. They were very easy to mount and they do allow quick access to the underside. I can ryde farther in more comfort since we have the Corbin seats. I can relax now that my wife has a backrest to help her stay mounted when I have to roll on the throttle coming out of intersections or just want or need to "go fast!"

She does complain about sliding forward alot. I can feel her sliding forward when I brake or slow down suddenly. We tried wiping rubbing alcohol on the seat to make it less slippery but that didn't seem to help too much. I pulled the back seat off to see if there were any rubber bumpers that I could remove or trim but didn't see anything that I felt comfortable removing.

My wife and I were fortunate enough to live near enough (600 miles) to Hollister, CA to be able to have our seat done with the "by appoinment, one day service" in mid January. I will post a picture of what ours looks like. We asked and they were able to build up her seat to where she could see over my helmet, and built it so as to eliminate the dip the traditional Corbin Spyder seat has. Another Spyder owner, tatt2r had the same dipping problem. I sent him our pics, he called Corbin and they are doing what needs to be done to satisfy him. Corbin's policy is to please their customers. We are very pleased with the seat. Now have over 4000 miles since the seat was installed. To think, we rode the 600 miles on the stock seat, non-stop! Yep, was a tail bone misery.

Corbin has my passenger seat doing what they did to duddleys the passenger seat was designed poorly as far as angle it was a pain in the butt everytime I stopped my girl would slide forward they did offer to fix it at no charge but I had to pay shipping and seat is gone for around a month
