• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Very discouraged

Chin up matey , I had similar problems for some time a few years back , I ended up getting a magnetic bracelet , never looked back . Now recovering from a smashed pelvis , busted wrist and nerve damage to my right leg + drop foot on the same side , it's amazing what the body can heal given time and positive mental attitude , don't worry my friend you will soon look back on these pain filled times and realise how far you have moved on .
Good luck , keep smiling .

PHYSICAL MEDICINE

the mds I see here in Austin Tx (South Austin Family Practice) have a Physical Medicine department, run by 2 chiropractors who over see 6 0r 8 physio therapists who with a combination of directed massage electro stim ultrasound electro stim and some steroid patches have worked WONDERS on my rotator cuffs, Plantars fasciatis, hip and lower back pain to reduce the need for meds. it's all billed under regular medical codes they have CPT codes that correspond to it. But I've never seen another western medicine doctor prescribe this type of treatment. they are a family practice and apparently had a lot of sports and geriatric injuries and saw a need. Recommend you look for MDs that do or refer to Physical Medicine. Not PT that different. Just a suggestion. when I thought I needed surgery for my hip they showed it wasn't needed. Getting old sometimes hurts but it sure beats the alternatives! :2thumbs:

Right now I'm praying for my kids, or should I say my young adult children. My daughter is 20 and my son is 18. They see me suffer and are saddened for me. My dauhgter works full time as a hotel receptionist at the Residence Inn Mariott in Williston Vermont. My son is a senior in High School, doing very well at The Essex Tech residential building trades program in Essex Junction Vermont. He has been selected for the National Honor Society. He also is the only student in his class to get approved and hired by a local contractor in the Essex Tech coop program. I'm just so proud of him! I think his future looks bright. With all this, both my daughter and son have taken time to help me when needed to run errands, going to the store for me when we needed groceries and other needs. They both have driven me to the hospital when I needed to go to emergency when I was in too much pain to drive. I love them both very much and wish that they didn't have to see me go through this. There future depends on me. Thats why I fear losing my job working for a great company now for 15 years. I have to try to stay strong and posititive, even though sometimes all I feel is down and depressed. Today is another day. Tomorrow will be another. I just have to take all this one day at a time.

Praying for you, and a suggestion; I've had back problems most of my life, including sciatica, out of desperation I tried an inversion table. I've been using it now for 6 years, started at 5 minutes morning and night, I use it once a week now, never steeper than 30 degrees from horizontal, and it works!

Stay positive! As other members have stated, it will improve. I also had a bad time with Sciatica as a result of a ruptured disc. The Sciatica was frustrating; the inability to maintain a normal routine was infuriating (riding your Spyder). Physical Therapy was the option I chose over cutting. I still have issues from time to time with some numbness on the bottom of my right foot and several toes. I will live with that, no problem. Once the PT started the Sciatica improved quickly and I was able to resume a “normal routine”. I do have to stay mindful of the condition and think before I start something that may put a strain on the lower back. As stated by another member, “getting old sucks, but considering the alternatives”. Facing the reality of age and acknowledging that we have to change the way we approach daily routine is frustrating but reality. What other choice to we have? When we purchased our Spyder SE5, Sciatica was on my my mind. The BEST to you and I hope you will be back on your Spyder soon.

Mike
