• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Vertika Trykes Canada

This was from Spyderfest. I'm sure somebody else has more detailed photos of the RT.

Cuznjohn, I saw this Spyder at SpyderFest also. He's from Canada. I believe he's also the guy who interviewed Lamont about the 2014 RTS. That interview was posted on SL a couple weeks ago. I don't know his name but surely someone here will. If you find his name, you could PM him and get info first handed...

BUT DID YOU SEE THE SECOND SET THAT COVERS THE SIDE BOTTOM VENTS they stop the air from coming to your feet and send it out the bottom they say
CART-CFBP-250-PR.jpg

Still won't do anything unless the machine is moving fast enough to push air. Do what you wish but they promised us the problem would be solved and it wasn't. Once bitten.... twice shy!

Well I have the Air Scoops and they work! I noticed a decline in 2 to 3 bars on the digital readout right away. I then installed the Kewl Metal Air Filter Kit and removed the air box and resonator and I can tell with the assistance of the Vertika Air Scoops the air is really flowing below. Now not only does the temperature readout show a consistent low reading but the seat and the crack between the seat and glove box has noticeably less heat flowing in that area. My experience with Vertika has been positive and the product is not just a beauty mark on the Spyder but it is functional. I have noticed and it only my opinion but it seems in the last few years that BRP has been copying and integrating some of Vertika's ideas. First if you notice the wheel fenders that Vertika has had for years, they look mighty close to the ones BRP started using on the 2013 and 2014 models minus the open space that Vertika has on their wheel fenders. Then BRP is utilizing the Air Scoop idea that Vertika has by using that idea on the ST heat issues. The side panels with vents is nothing more than the Vertika Air Scoop idea. But back to the Air Scoops that Vertika offers they work on mine. Don't know why they would not work on others. How BRP expected air to get in the side vents without the assistance of something like what Vertika created is a mystery to me. From a looks standpoint and a functional one, I would advise anyone to pull the trigger if they had the funds to do so.

Oh REALLY

Why would you say that? BRP has admitted the problem exists, and has issued a recall to address it. John is just looking for MORE air movement to help with the issue of heat causing him discomfort...

BRP admitted to the Master cylinder melting----TRUE, just a bandaid fix. :gaah:

BRP has done nothing for my HEAT ISSUES, boiling gas in tank and God only knows what else may be damaged by the excessive heat. :helpsmilie:

Bob you missed my point. I am in the same place as everyone with the heat issue. I just believe BRP is responsable for taking care of the problems, for the last four months they have done noting but to tell me to take :spyder2: to the dealer. The dealer says there is nothing more they can do as BRP says there is NO HEAT ISSUES :cus: :banghead:

I don't have any problems if Bob wishes to pay more $$$ to ride in comfort. But come people it's not up to use to pay for a fix to ride in comfort and the take care of the heat problems.:dontknow:

I BOUGHT THE TOP VENTS THE ONES THAT LOOK LIKE A DIAMON THEY DONT HELP MUCH
NOT WERTH WHAT CAUST &SHIPPING .AND HE WILL ASK FOR YOUR SS# ASK LAMONT
I PM HIM ABOUT THEM WANTING SS# HE SAID NO WAY THERE PRICES ARE WAY TO HI FOR WHAT YOU GET

Vertika did not ask me for an SS# when I ordered my top vents from them today.

agree

i totally agree with you but what can i do. i have a bike that is not worth selling because no one wants them, plus brp flooded the dealers with 13's at 20 percent off dealer price so they took them, so here i sit with a bad foot problem and the heat will burn me so having been told to talk to my dealer and the dealer tells me to call brp i need to make the bike so i can ride it. i was also told on 9/16 that the parts for the heat fix were on the way so did you get them because my dealer didn't. so i will spend the money and hope when the 15's come out i might make a deal if i can still ride

Recall Down

My dealer did the MC Recall, replacing the MC and repairing melted wiring harness and taping the canister. That being said, the excessive heat on the right foot, right thigh and front of seat is unbearable and is still there. The chap stick in the glove box still melts even after I used heat tape on it. :banghead:

My tech has been great in trying to fix the issues, but BRP has been no help. He says there maybe some sort of fix coming but had no idea what that may be or when.

So the :spyder2: sits in the garage as it is not fun or enjoyable to ride.

Good luck with whatever you come up with, sure hope it works.

my bike sits there and i go out once a week on a sunday with friends but during the week i tend to not use it due to the heat issue. i have given it a lot of thought and even thou i am not a engineer i really don't see a fix for ir that brp will not lose their shirts on them.

just got off the phone with gerry from vertika trykes and i was talking to him about the heat on the 13 rt/s and what can be done, i asked if the full boards they have would cover the hole by my foot for the heat. he said he is waiting for a 2014 bike to come in so they can make the boards fit up to and including the 14's. he is aware of the problems with the bike and he suggested part # CART-CFBP-250-PR at 595.00 Canadian and # CART-TV-350-PR at 595.00 Canadian for the bike. he said it cuts off all the heat coming from the bike and the scoops drive air straight into the engine compartment and said it brings down the heat level by at least 2 bars on the gauge.

being the value of the bike has dropped so much it is worth money wise to keep it and put a few bucks into it to stop the problem i have. so gerry is working me up a price for painting them and shipping them to me, so i think this is the way i am going. their web site with the parts is http://www.vertikatrykescanada.com/boutique.shtml?cat=SPYDER RT-RTS parts not painted and the parts are the first two on the page. click on the picture to enlarge them

I have all vertikes vents, they do work and every thing Gerry told me was correct. :ohyea:

update

the paint for the bike is a 3 stage paint, vertika said they use PPG paint so i called a old friend and he said he could come close to the color by scanning a piece of the bike but can't say it will be a exact match. so i told gerry from vertika to just send the parts and i will get the paint from touch up direct and have a shop here paint them for me. so i will have a price tomorrow for the parts with shipping and they will go in the mail.

heat issues

What happened to the kewlmaster air intake system? That didn't work? Sounds like BRP has a safety issue that might trigger class action.:lecturef_smilie:

This is Pierre Peloquin who owns this bike. He was the president of Club Spyder Laurentides last year as is now doing SpyderTV. I believe his name on spyderlovers is Big Red Machine, but I will verify this. I am sure if you PM him he will provide you any info on Vertika kits. They are actually located not far from us here in Gatineau, Quebec.
